    Hey Twister...

Unfortunately, that is a state/town specific answer.

In my area our natural gas is delivered at 1/2 P.S.I. so we are required to test our natural gas systems to 3 P.S.I. For 10 minutes (residential). We are also required to have a special gas gauge that reads in 1/10th P.S.I. increments... see picture.

Some states test at 10 P.S.I. some at 25 P.S.I..

In this case, I would recommend that you call a local plumbing inspector and ask him for specific details regarding test and test pressure and length of time the test is required to hold.

What specific application is this for? Did you add a new gas line? Are you testing the entire house after gas has been shut down for awhile? Finally, are you pulling a gas permit for the job?

    Let me know.. O.K.
