    What points you to MAI? This is a bacterial infection common among those with AIDS.

    You can also look at this link from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

    This link refers to Mycobacterium avium Complex which in essence is Mycobacterium avium complex (comprising M. avium and M.intracellulare).

    Here is a link to Mycobacterium intracellulare.

    Rick is correct in that this is a bacterial infection common among people with HIV/AIDS, or immunocompromised patients.
