I have my lip peirced and nose (lip was done by me!) but cartilige hurts from what I've heard. Just say you need it and it's expressing your individuality.

I got mine done a little under 3 months ago, and yes it does hurt, but it hurts more after its done than when it is actually getting pierced. I personally just told my mom I was getting it done and my grandma was taking me, (my moms pretty cool hah) but if your mom isn't like mine (which most arent) just be open and honest about it; tell her why you want it and hopefully she will understand.

    Hope this helped ?

When I told my mom I sent her a pic while I was at my friends and she was an hour away so she had time to cool off about it so that's what I would do.

This is from 2009 - I'm sure the person who asked has worked the problem out.

I note that you are in pain from your piercing - and you STILL recommend that someone else have a piercing?
