Ouch pain coming from behind ear
I'm very sick... with either the mumps which is going around the universities in my city or Scarlet Fever. The doc thinks it's Scarlet Fever from a missed case of strep throat I had a bit ago. I get my blood test results soon. Enough with the history... I have a very small bump behind my ear which lays on the bone. It doesn't hurt when I touch it but it's extremely painfull through out the whole right side of my head all the time. It seems as though it's by a vein back there. Is it possible it's some kind of blood clot or blockage? Should I be worried? I know there are glands all over my head right now that are swollen but I'm almost positive this isn't a gland.

Have you experienced pain in the neck also? TMJ can create pain that can go behind the ear, which I've had also. Have you seen an EMT specialist (ear, nose, throat). Meniere's disease is something that has to do with dizziness and other symptoms. I would suggest making sure it is not TMJ because the muscles in your face and neck and connected and can cause pain.

Is the area red, swollen, painful to the touch?
