Never had a period by age 15
I'm 15 and have never had a period should be worried? I've had grey, yellow and white discharge for a long time. Should I see someone and how would I get there?

Do you live with your mom? or is there a dad? or do any relatives live near you to talk with about this and who can get you to a doctor for a checkup?

@wondergirl Yes, I live with both my parents but I would be too uncomfortable speaking to them about this subject. My parents don't believe that we need to go to the doctor until we are sick so I am not sure what to do

Some girls start later than others. Most doctors aren't concerned until you hit the age of 16 and still have no period.

If this is a concern and you want to be checked, the only one that can check you and give you an accurate diagnosis, is a doctor. Your parents have to agree to this, since they pay for the doctor. So unless you talk to your parents about it, and they agree to take you to a doctor, you really don't have a lot of options.

Just to make sure. You don't have to have a period to get pregnant. You ovulate before you get a period, so it's entirely possible to never have had a period, and still become pregnant. Having said that, is that a possibility? Are you sexually active?

@Alty Definitely not! I've never had sex before and am waiting until marriage. I was hoping I did have other options though... Any other possible things I could do to get some peace of mind since going to the doctor is out of the question?

    Not really.

How much do you weigh? Your period won't start if you're too thin. If you're not eating properly, or are starving yourself, you won't get a period. Many athletes stop getting their period because of they low body weight. So, do you eat properly, are you a healthy weight?

But really, at 15 I wouldn't worry. At 17 I would see a doctor. But not having a period at 15 is more common than you think. It's really not something I'd be concerned about yet.

@Alty If anything, I am slightly above average weight. I weigh 108 pounds and I am a competitive athlete. And just to clarify, I have never had a period, not just stopped having them.

Being 108 pounds and a competitive athlete is the most likely reason you haven't started your period.

@J_9 I am so surprised. Thank you so much! Is 108 pounds too much at my age to be able to get a period?

Too little. Like I said before, athletes sometimes stop getting their period, because of the amount of exercise they do, and their body weight.

I realize you've never had your period. It may be halted because of your physical activity. Just like it stops for many athletes.

Actually it is just about right. Most girls don't get a period until they are around 100 pounds. However, factor in that you are athletic. That will stop you from getting a period.

Don't stress it. It will happen and when it does you will wish it NEVER happened.

Thank you so much guys! @Alty and @J_9 thanks :) I'm not eager to get it by any means; just was a little concerned. Now I have nothing to worry about!
