Seat heater replacement options - 2000 Impala
Well, the back seat heater of the driver's side is open (infinite R). Did switch control modules for giggles as part of the initial troubleshooting. I hated the troubleshooting instructions.

    What are the options:

    1) Replacing the entire seat doesn't sound cheap. I hear that's what "they" like to do.
    2) Is heater(s) available separately?
    3) Does it make sense to replace seat and back heaters (I vote yes)
    4) Make sense to go aftermarket? Suggestions? It's a low/off/high type of switch.
    5) Let it stay broken?

Tearing it apart doesn't phase me in the least. I've had all the seats out of a car to clean and dye the rug and I upulstered a bench seat when I was 15. Buckets are a bit easier. Had those out too.

Well, after doing some research, it appears that the bang-bang control puts too much stress on the elements.

If I decide to replace, it may be one from SEATHEATERS.COM

How do you replace a seat that has pretty much disentigrated? I cannot unscrew it because it has rusted and is falling apart. Any pointers would be great.
