Getting married, a new furbaby, AND plans for future kids. I'm glad your life has turned around.

Just think of it this way, the hell you went through makes you able to more easily and readily appreciate all the good in your life, now. Whenever things get not so good, just remind yourself that you've already survived hell and nothing less is going to take you down.

Anyway, Alty, I know life has been tough for you lately. I am amazed by your strength and willingness to help so many others. You're one of my heroes. :)
Sweetie, if anyone is a hero it's you. You took that pain and you not only dealt with it, but you reached out to others as well.

You are an inspiration and I'm so glad you're back. Just seeing your posts brings a smile to my face.

Oh great, now I'm getting all weepy.

    PMS sucks. ;)

You are absolutely right. I don't know if you saw my earlier post, but I give you so much credit for opening my eyes last year. :) I wouldn't be in the place I am at without your advice and the advice of others in my thread.

Heath needs to come to the castle too, especially since we have a cat and she's the resident kitty expert.

Heath, get your butt over there.

Sometimes we just need someone with a little distance to give us a swift boot to the a$$ to shock us into opening our eyes and seeing what's right in front of us. The rest was ALL you. Not everyone is strong, or brave, enough to get out of a relationship like that, even after being able to see it for what it is, let alone being able to come out as strong as you did. Being able to trust and love someone enough to get married says it all.

Hell, my last relationship ended fairly tamely, and I'm STILL not ready for another. That was 2 years ago.

John made it easy for me. I couldn't find someone better in so many ways, and I love his family. The sad thing is he was a neighbor and I had known him before I met the creep. If only we had acted on it then... but all's well that ends well.

I had better get to work. This is so much fun, but time to go.

But you weren't the same person then, that you are now. Who's to say that it would've worked out, or that you would've had your eyes open enough to even see him?

Why worry about how the past COULD have been, when there's no way to know for sure? What you DO know is what the present is like, and what you would like the future to look like.

I'm just beginning to accept that. I had a true epiphany last week. I was sweating my a$$ off in what was probably 100F heat while doing physical labor at work. I was standing there, and I suddenly realized, I was happy. For the first time in years, I am truly happy.

Loose cats don't really bother me. Remember, I have 5 that have the run of my relatively small apartment. Not only do they have the entire extra bedroom to themselves, they've also pretty much taken over every other room. On cooler nights, I generally have at least 4 taking up most of my bed while I try to sleep around them.
