further proof I'm right...
Park Service appears to be closing streets on mere whim and caprice. The rangers even closed the parking lot at Mount Vernon, where the plantation home of George Washington is a favorite tourist destination. That was after they barred the new World War II Memorial on the Mall to veterans of World War II. But the government does not own Mount Vernon; it is privately owned by the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association. The ladies bought it years ago to preserve it as a national memorial. The feds closed access to the parking lots this week, even though the lots are jointly owned with the Mount Vernon ladies.
The rangers are from the government, and they’re only here to help.“It’s a cheap way to deal with the situation,” an angry Park Service ranger in Washington says of the harassment. “We’ve been told to make life as difficult for people as we can. It’s disgusting.”

"We've been told to make life as difficult as possible?" Gimme a break, this Democrat regime is growing more disgusting by the moment, and anyone that supports that mindset doesn't deserve to be called an American. How freakin' pathetic can you be?

As pathetic as shutting down the government in the first place. It was stupid, and only a fool would be happy about it. Just think what would happen if cops and first responders who aren't getting paid stop volunteering to do their JOBS.
Picking out small parts to be outraged about is thoughtless as hell. Either its open or NOT.

Intentionally trying to make life as difficult as possible is a small part? How pathetic. But thanks for proving my point.

Sen Pat Toomey has twice proposed a bill called the 'Full Faith and Credit Act.". He originally proposed it in 2011 ,during the last debt limit debate ,and it has been reintroduced again ,and passed in the House .The legislation will ensure that the U.S. government does not default on its debt by requiring the Treasury to prioritize payments on the debt in case the debt ceiling is not raised.
It protects Social Security benefits and military pay and requires that the United States Government prioritize all obligations on the debt held by the public if the debt limit is reached. Harry Reid has it stalled in the Finance Committee... oh yeah ,the emperor threatens to veto it if it's passed.
So how can we take his pablum about the national debt seriously ?

Stop the games and open the government, then you don't have to debate these silly piece meal fixes that make the headlines every day. What you think the TParty can ignore 72% of the American people that think it's a lousy idea to shut down the government because YOU don't like Obama Care?

The Full Faith and Credit Act is not a piecemeal bill . It comprehensively protects the nations from default caused by irresponsible Presidents who take the nation to the brink with stubborn resistance to do his job..

That's great until some contractor doesn't get paid, and China does, or we start arguing what the priorities are, or who reprograms the computers that cuts the checks. Shame those that are a low priority will scream for full payment when you don't meet contractual obligations. Not to mention credit downgrading and the resultant rise in interest rates. Not good for the dollar, or the bond market, or full faith and credit of the whole country.
Sounds good on paper, but doesn't go far enough, but we do need a procedure for defaults than unwinds a fiscal mess without destroying the whole structure.
On that I can agree. Wonder what this shutdown will finally cost us?

Too bad... the emperor is holding the economy hostage and ginning up panic in the financial markets with his irresponsible rhetoric over the debt ceiling . The Dem solutions are always the same... spend more ,spend more , wash, rinse ,repeat...

Then you should have old that to Ted and the rest of the TParty in the house. They got what they wanted... a shutdown until Obama Care was repealed... defunded... delayed. And we should think they are patriots?
Get real, they are the REAL traitors, and have FAILED, and will pay!

While you guys evict poor people from having access to doctors, which takes money to pay his bill. But that's okay. You need links to the budget cuts you guys put on Veteran programs that was to help vets?
This goes back to the spring of this year, when repubs refused to conference with dems (18 times) over the sequester cuts, and now you hypocrites want to talk AFTER you shut the government down over Obama care?
And your outrage at the moment is on veterans who are tourists? You weren't outraged in March when they were cutting programs though!

If the lazy bums bought insurance instead of iPhones and expensive athletic shoes... and gave up going to Starbucks every day... they would have it. I found money to pay for medical insurance... AND Pay back student loans on $16K when I got out of college during Jimmy Carters wonderful economy...
I did it by making sacrifices... something liberals believe they should never be inconvenienced to do in their lives. Because their fragile egos couldn't suffer through it.

Do you mean all the lazy people who don't have insurance or inadequate insurance? Do you means the lazy people who come to this website and ask for medical advice because ( by their own admission) can't afford to go to the doctor?

I think you need to get real. Obamacare was deemed passed by reconciliation... a move reserved for budgetary issues. So like it or not ,Obamacare funding is on the table in ALL budget negotiations as are all budget related issues.

I'm never outraged by trying to rein in government spending, why aren't you? Never mind, you think government is the solution to everything and don't care how much you take from me to do it. You're content with raping and pillaging hardworking taxpayers to accomplish your political agenda.
I'm not, and I see nothing moral about your ways, just as in this shutdown - intentionally inflicting pain on the people you claim to champion, vets, children, small business owners and you have no shame about it. The latest unnecessary farce in the shutdown charade? Amber Alert.

The electorate said that dems control the executive branch, and the senate, and repubs have a narrow control of the house. In laymans terms you don't have the power via votes, to run a damn thing.
The house has given everyone a paid vacation, and Bonehead loses his job if he has a vote on a clean CR bill. Can't believe repubs are for government workers taking government money for sitting at home.
On a side note, I hope ESPN fantasy live updates gets its glitch fixed, after all they have had years to get there system together.

It worked fine for me. You must be on a government connection.
