Yes, BUT, Spam is a completely man made product that can not be duplicated by mere mortals. Anyone can smoke up some bacon. Spam on the other hand, requires a regiment of highly educated scientist. It has to be chopped, spiced, formed, and coaxed into a can. That's why it has only been in existence for a mere 71 years. Before then, humans did not have the technology to pull it off. The gel alone requires extremely sophisticated equipment that injects it in the precise volume as opposed to the mass of the meat and the volume of the can. That's why you never see counterfit Spam. I am amazed at the problematic nature of a seemingly innocent looking can of Spam... just amazed.

I am not amazed that you are amazed. You compare bacon to Spam when that is like comparing apples to oranges. Spam cannot even be compared to ham since ham is of inconsistent flavor, color and most importantly, taste. Spam is consistent with each serving. Uniform in color, texture, taste, right down to the consistancy of the gel that cushions it from the bangs and bruises of a hostile, outside world. I'll agree, bacon has it's place but for my food dollar, Spam is the first choice.

He told me in no uncertain terms that at my age, I wasn't worthy to patrol the azure waters of a bath tub. Oh well, I guess I'll be vacationing along the azure waters of Ceasars Palace again this year. I sure hope Prince William will be safe and out of reach of any helicopters. |

The love of azure waters is shared by me too and I will enjoy my king-sized bathtub or meet you at Ceaser's any time. Who needs royalty to have fun? I don't look like a horse, so I know I wouldn't fit in - and don't really care where they go for the summer, as long as they stay out of my life. Being an unbiazed(sp) friend of both of you, start.. I love bacon too. But I would like my spam to stay original (as there is not much original stuff anymore) and would like the opportunity to mix and experiment on my own. I think that I am intelligent enough to augment the taste and please my tastebuds all by my little ole self. I love this thread! Virtual hugs to you all.  My rubber-ducky patrols my azure area.

See Chery, sometimes I think you are the only sane person here. Original Spam is the best. To heck with those bacon people! Bacon should only be used to wrap around a fillet... or a Spam nugget when on the grill.

Oh dear,, did you forget the old original B.L.T? That still is one of my favorites. Sometimes I add an egg to it, just like fried spam with egg on top - That puts me in tastebud heaven!

I know I have not visited this thread for a while, but was a little busy in relationship section and putting together the bike and trike I got for Alexander. They are assembled now and I can't wait until he visits this weekend - we will be outside in the yard trying them out. I'll make sure to take lots of pictures and share them with you.
