I've now gone 46 days without a cigarette.
It's SOOOO much easier now.
I still think about it, especially in bad moments of my days... but I no longer want to cry when I can't have one.
Laura, there's a spot here right next to me that I'm saving for you, because I KNOW you can do it.

GOOD MORNING fellow goddesses and demi gods. It's an okay day so far. I did brak down and had 3 bottles of caffeine yesterday.(BAAAAAAAAAAD me) I'd been up most of the night before with mr. chippers and making sure he was all right. He had the surgery and came trhu it fine. I fought with the docotr about changing his pain med from vicodin to percocet because the vico wasn't touching him before the surgery. Once the doc realized I wasn't giving up, he changed the med for him. He's had 2 painfree nights so far. (it pays to be a b@@@h).
The boys had a snow day yesterday and Mr. einstein decided to help them clear snow from the driveway and the car. I actually came close to wrapping the snow shovel around his neck. But it took restrain not to.
Ah synn< I'm sooooooo proud of you. 46 days is nothing to sneeze at. As for being grumpy and not wanting to take it out on us? Never think that. We take it as venting your feelings, not as personal attacks. It helps you and it also helps us.
That's so not fair cbw. Doesn't he realize that the leaks and the other problems can cause mold. Especially being a fireman? If he does and does nothing to fix it, he could be held criminally responsible if you guys get sick.
Also check out leagal aide about putting your rent money in escrew until he makes the repairs. ONce that happens, watch how dast he makes the repairs. I know you're in england, but it wouldn't hurt to check out legal aide. They can tell you what to do.
It's how they do it here in the u.s. but it wouldn't hurt to check it out. Also see if there is a department (or minsitry of housing) they could direct you to your rights as a renter. I'm just guessing here but it's somehtng to think about.
I'm sorry if I'm preaching to you but I hate seeing people I care about being mistreated.
Even though we only chat here, I consider you all very good friends.
Luve to all of you fellow goddesses and demi gods.

I quit 3 months ago and have not had a ciggie since. What has made it easy for me is the fact that I slowly over a period of one year weaned myself off them very slolwy. I dropped the amount I smoked until I was only have one cigarette a day and then I woke up one day and said today will be the day I stop. I have managed now to go 3 months, but I did this before I made it to 4 months and started again. I do have the odd times when I really want a cigarette.
Do you know what is really odd? When you give up you start to see people that you would never believe would smoke? In yet when you are smoking everywhere you go non smokers and nobody is smoking only you. I must say that since I have given up I cannot stand near a smoker and find the smell horrible. I don't want patches either, I mean what is the point in giving your body a substitute nicotine the only way to do it is to stop! No easy cure it is hell and sometimes very boring.
