I also try not to put something girly in my avatar pic as it is more fun when members mistake me for a guy.
I don't have an avi at the moment.. guess I'll get round to it one of these days.
Your avi did fool me because for some reason at first I did think you were a guy! Don't know why because women can have firm beliefs too!
Also I don't think it would matter to have a pic of mecca or what ever. People are entitled to have their own beliefs and express them openly I feel. Other's shouldn't feel threatened by that, as long as they don't try to force their beliefs on others. Its what makes the world more interesting!

Great post Firmbeleiver , I never thought I'd get to tell that story. Thanks
Thank you for sharing..
Sorry for your loss.
You are a good friend to do all that for your friend.
cece23,
My avi does fool a lot of people, but I really do not wish for people to judge me,before they read what I have written.
rpg219,
Some of us here do know each other, there are some husbands and wives using this site with their own accounts and friends who log in together.
I did not know anyone here before I joined, but have made a few great friends at AMHD.

I know a couple people who joined because I wouldn't shut up about the site, but they are on strict instructions not to read my posts! Too many secretes- makes me very nervous! The friend who goes on the most has completely different knowledge to me so I hope it's OK. So I suppose the answer is yes and no.

I figured as much, but I keep seeing people reference each other... guess that's just from seeing and talking to the same people over and over. I always see the same ones on here :)

My screen name was a no brainer when I signed up. My dog's name is Tuscany (that is him on my avatar) and the whole reason I signed on to this site was because I had a question about him. I stayed because I enjoyed the people.

Ok so after reading all these, I have decided that chosing my name because of my dog is a bit boring. But what else could I be called... maybe by the name the students have given... crazyteacherwithbigmouth

Tuscany the dog is named after Tuscany Italy. My husband and I went to Italy for a month 2 summers ago for our honeymoon and Tuscany was our favorite place. It was there that we decided to get a dog. So, you guys were right about the place too.

Some may.. others maybe not. Some of us know each quite well from being here together for a while. There are some wonderful people here.

I would love to go to Italy.
Did you specifically choose Italy, or Tuscany for that matter, or did you visit other parts of Europe as well..

My mom and sister had been to Italy, and my husband is Italian so we decided to go there. My mom and sister helped us make up our tour (we did it on our own, not with an organization). We spent 3 days in Rome, a week in Positano (we had our own private villa), 4 days in Capri, a week in Tuscany (San Gimignano as our main starting place) and 5 days in Florence.
So we chose Italy, but toured the country. I want to go back there and live. The people, the culture, the atmosphere are all just amazing. It has changed how we look at retirement. I have not been anywhere else in Europe, however my mom, sister and I are planning a trip to Ireland next summer (if I am not pregnant).
