He gave us a choice because He wants us to WANT to be with Him. He wants us to make our own decision about it. He doesn't want us to be in cages where we have to do what He says. He gives us guidelines (that's the whole point of the Bible) and wants us to follow those guidelines, but He wants us to follow them on our own. He wants us to love Him on our own free will. We can deny Him or embrace Him.
Think about it. If someone told you that you HAVE to love them and believe in that person, wouldn't you be more obligated to go the opposite way? But if they telly uo they love you, and give YOU the choice to make on your own whether you want that person to be a part of your life or not, you are so much more apt to love that person with all of your heart.
That's why we have a choice.

In past times, there was actually no such thing as straight, bi, and gay.
Everyone just liked who they liked.
How we became a race of people who discriminate others based on sexual preferences, i dont know, but it really bothers me.
And if ANYONE ever gives you about going to hell for this, just ask them "Give me proof that there IS a hell, and then we'll talk."

Be happy, screw others views.
Oh and God doesn't damn anyone to Hell, especially not for a reason like that. If someone doesn't go to Heaven, it's not because they were gay, or because they were a liar, or even because they were a killer who raped 100+ people, it's because they didn't embrace God's love. That's the bottom line to all of this.

You have a lot to learn about yourself, and the world so do as all young people do and learn. No one can tell you who or what you are, and the best thing about choices (yes you have that) is you can chose to be whatever you want, or live the way you want. Just I would say go slow, and don't jump into anything you don't feel is right for you, and let no one define who you are, but you. As your ideas and thoughts become more solid, as you know yourself, then your path will be clear. If it helps look around you, and see if there is a male figure who you can talk to, whom you trust and look up to, and see if he can give you answers, or directions, for the path you seek, and don't be afraid of what others may throw at you, because God made you from love, and no one can take that from you, no matter what book they throw at you. Very glad you have come here, and hope you stay.

Hi there... why do you feel that you are gay?? Well, whether you are christian , muslim, jewish, hindu... etc... GOD is there and is not waiting for you or me or anyone else to believe of his existence... Look around you in the whole world and you will find that simplist thing around you tells you that GOD is very much in there... take your body for example... who created you & the mechanism of your origins... As for going to hell because you are Gay... Well, you can stop it if you are gay... ask GOD for forgiveness, never do it again.

His parents created him, they had sexual intercourse, I always thought that was basic knowledge

Gay is not a choice, read the thread and educate yourself about homosexuality.

Yeah but we christians believe that god created who we are and our personality and our talents long before we were born, please respect that belief :)
Everything is a choice karma
Well, honestly mate, god forgives all sins (so if gay is sin, then you won't be sent to hell for it as long as you accept jesus and etc etc)
And I guess its better than you being like that gutless guy on 60 minutes who tried to hide his gayness because he was afraid for over 20 years, and then decided to come out, dumping his wife and kids for another man, because he didn't have the guts to be who he truly was.

So you believe any talents or personality traits that you have are set before you are born and you cannot change them in any way? Yup, I agree with you, we differ there. I believe life is what we make it. If we decide to make a change in life we can learn to do so. It's called being responsible and taking ownership of your destiny versus believing that our lives are all planned out ahead of time.

Reminds of Ted Haggard. It's amazing that 3 weeks of counselling completely cured him of his gayness. Truly a remarkable man.

I believe that you cannot change it, but you just have all this talent you haven't uncovered yet karma, so your not really changing your talents, just revealing them.

Have to respectfully disagree with you there NeedKarma.
I heard about this man before, nearly chocked on my cornflakes then as I did now.
He is exactly what is wrong with organised religion.
1) People shouldn't just be forgiven for killing people/ using people/ flouting laws as if they don't apply to them. Any fool can regret yesterday. Anybody can pretend they have found the light.
2) I don't believe he was cured of 'gayness' I think he is lying
He was discover and lied like the little worm he was. He didn't play that organisation for power once but twice. Yes I suppose he is a remarkable man but not in the way you are thinking.

there are so many gay people in the world and I don't think God would
send them all to hell just because of their sexual orientation. People can't
help it if they are gay or not, and I don't believe it is a sin. Being "gay" isn't a label
for your life, its merely just a fact. Saying "gay" is a sin is like saying brown hair is
a sin, because you can't help it.
so my advice,
don't worry about it, people and God will look at you for who you are, not
your sexual orientation.

I know that it's hard coming up in today's world, and you have come across a feeling that is normal, I have heard that same saying that if you go with your same sex that you will go to hell, now I'm not saying that I don't believe in God, I'm not a church goer either, I was raise in the church were we went to church every day. I don't go to church till this day, and it's not cause I don't believe, it's just that church has become a business now. I can talk with God in my own home, and I do every day.
When I was your age I didn't know if I like girls or boys, so I tired both, I'm NOT telling you to do this, but you should really sit down with your mom and dad and let them know what your feeling, tell them not to get upset, that you want to know what is going on with your feelings inside you, this will also make your family home life closer.
By the way I'm a girl and I love guys. I'm married to a wonderful man. And wouldn't trade it for the world, if there were no men on earth, I still wouldn't want to be with another woman. No matter what, cause in my heart I know and can feel that it's wrong.

One thing to remember is if you don't believe in God that doesn't mean his doesn't exist. Believe in God! Find some help in Faith. I thought I was gay for years but I am married now and have a wonderful life with kids and great sexual relationship with my wife. I am a man by the way. If you want a wholesome life than you can have it. God can give if to you. I know for myself. You may be looking at gay porn and feel good as you look at it but when it's all over, if you want more than an orgasism than take a step back, pray, and find God and he'll help you find yourself. I promise.

johnfrost disagrees: you weren't a mennonite. Crazy maybe...
And who are you to tell me what I was, and what I wasn't? Or are you some kind of psychic that can tell things about people just from the words they type?
For being so "Godly", you sure know how to treat people. You can call me crazy all you want, but no one knows what I have done/been in my life but me and a few close people.

To answer your question, everyone will go to hell if they do not believe in Jesus as their savior. It does not matter if your gay or straight, all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. So the problem isn't whether your gay or not it is do you have faith in Jesus. Read the Bible. Jesus died for you and took your sins on himself to save you. But in order to receive this wonderful free gift you must beieve with your heart. God has so many wonderful gifts for those that put their trust in HIM. You will experience such love and joy and peace, you will be a changed person. Think about how great God's love is for you if he is willing to suffer in your place so you don't have to be punished but just enter into His love and on top of that you will have eternal life. What a great deal. Don't pass it up.

I once had a priest tell me this and I just have to share it with you. He said there is light and the dark and when you die you have a choice to choose which way to go. The light of course is heaven and the dark of course is hell. I know it is the essence of simplification but I liked it and hope you find some meaning out of it. Bottom line, we always can make a choice and no one forces us. Good luck!

Different degrees of hell
