Ok, Alty... you get three lashes with a wet noodle for that lame excuse. Enough said on that subject. We enjoy you on here and hope that you'll survive the lashes so that you can get back and chat with us again soon.

By the way, I didn't do my dishes today... they'll wait calmly for me to deal with tomorrow.

    Aw, poor Sneezy.

Want me to cheer you up?

    Things to ponder

Why are there flotation devices under plane seats instead of parachutes?

Why are cigarettes sold in gas stations when smoking is prohibited there?

Why do fat chance and slim chance mean the same thing?

If you can't drink and drive, why do you need a driver's license to buy liquor, and why do bars have parking lots?

Do you need a silencer if you are going to shoot a mime?

I agree! We should force Mickey and the crew to go on a diet. That should reduce the price. Maybe I should call Arnie and ask him for advice...

This made my day. Been a little under the weather - my monster is growing and taking a bit too much oxygen from me lately. Hoping to get a portable oxygen unit soon. This heat is getting me so forgive me if I don't visit here too much for a few days.

Still here, and love to you all,

I'm so sorry you are not feeling well again Momma C. Just know we all want you to feel better, and we are always thinking about you. Get the rest you need, and remember that we all love you bunches!

Starby, if I am remembering correctly, I told you I would post the "Computer Cake" on this thread that I made for my son. It was half chocolate, half white cake with almond flavored icing. The total computer, monitor and keyboard is made of cake. I took a couple of small dowel rods and ran through to keep it from sliding. Hope you enjoy viewing it!!

Chery, glad you are feeling better! We just want you healthy and giving us support, love or "WHAT FOR" if we need it!! Keep us straight!

Stringer, hope you are feeling better from you day of stress at work.

Alty, glad you are getting better, bit by bit, just wish it was by leaps and bounds instead!! :p

HC, hope you are getting all settled in!! Big adjustment?

Did I miss anyone on the thread right now? I apologize if I did. Oh, I think I may have spotted Sneezy on here earlier!

Didn't see M or Unky or other friends we usually see. Hope all of you are doing great! :)

    Love the cake Rebbie. Hey, my daughter's turning 6 on August 26, and my son will be 10 on September 4, any cake ideas? If you need some info, here it is;

My daughter loves anything pink, princess, ballet, girlie, girlie. :)

My son loves soccer, cars, video games and anything boyish, boyish. :)

Keep in mind that any ideas you have would need to be followed by step by step instructions, because I can bake, I am artistic, but making a cake like you did, I have absolutely no idea how. :)

Thank you M! I am glad you enjoyed seeing it.

Yes Alty, I have tons of ideas! You did see the Castle Cake... that is one idea. I will post more when I find photos. Actually, the computer cake was easy as soon as I figured out how to cut it and piece it. Many cakes I have done, I do with just cake from a 9x12 square corner pan. I use Wilton pans. They are aluminum and square corners, not rounded. I have made little trains, this computer cake, an airplane, etc. just from cutting pieces and putting them together. Instructions would be easy if you have a few icing bags or you can make a funnel with wax paer and cut tip for the icing tip to fit in. Three basic tips work just fine for most cakes. I will most more later and if you see any you are interested in, let me know. :)

Thanks Rebbie. I'd love to make a really special cake for the kids. I usually bake their cakes but they're just ordinary iced cakes with the kids names and happy birthday. Something special and unique would be great, I know the kids would love it.

I can't believe it's August already. I have to get both kids their back to school supplies, pay busing fees, school fees and then of course both their birthdays. August and September are expensive months. :(

I will have to go through photos and find some of my cakes so may be a few days but still have time since Aug. 26th is not quite here yet. My husbands birthday is tomorrow. Growing up, he only had one birthday cake ever so of course I had to go overboard for him through the years!! Although the kids loved them, I think they sort of took them for granted but I enjoyed doing them. I made an airplane cake for my brother when he got his pilot's license! He wouldn't cut it!! They put it in the freezer, kept it a year, then got it out and enjoyed it! That was a sweet compliment but I say, bake it, decorate it, enjoy it and it's a done deal!! LOL

I agree, although I'd have a hard time cutting it up as well. Your castle cake was a work of art, but you'll always have the pictures after it's gone, right. :)

Now if only I can decide what presents to buy the kids, I'll be all set. :)
