Thanks for making me feel better guys... I guess at this time of year I get very contemplative and I start reflecting on things that have nothing to do with material worth. YET the holidays seem to get all mixed up with the appearance of things. How we decorate, what we buy, what we cook and serve and how we look. These things are very trivial and I get overwhelmed at the thought of all of it, and I am just as guilty... Sometimes I wish I could just take my kids away and go live in a hut somewhere in Africa or Cambodia and just be people, respecting and loving other people. Do I sound completely insane??
Tusc an START, you always have a way of being so kind I really do appreciate that. I have a tough time not feeling bad about the things I do or don't do... BUT that is just a waste of energy so I need to focus on the things I can do and change. HOW DID WE GET to have such a MATERIALISTIC society??
I have missed you two VERY MUCH...
The Thanksgiving feast at school went well, although I wish we could have given food to the poor instead of feeding these children that already eat tooo much...

Shattered, I try my hardest not to buy things I really don't need. I try my hardest. Not having extra maoney has helped me be who I am and do things the way I do them! Teaches me a big lesson and when I do buy something for myself, I know I deserve it and still I feel guilty. I will meet you in that hut, I am sure we can "startover" there... :D

I have cut way back this year too. Most of my gifts are handmade (I am doing a recipe collection for my aunts and uncles) or baked. I figure I would enjoy making the stuff as much as would enjoy giving it. Of course like start the money is not as "flowing" as it normally is (dang new businesses), and that money tree I planted in the spring never grew any buds.

    LOL Tus...
I want a recipe or two... maybe you could post some good ones in the food threads and I can print them out.
I did the recipe thing for my cousins last year, they loved it! Great idea. Homemade gifts are always the best anyway...
Money tree? Should I start one? You got any seeds?

I have a miniature one, kind of a japaneese banzi money tree, unfortunately it produces smaller money than the regular ones so I can't use it :(
