What killed Romney was the conservatives that sat the last election out . What killed Romney was comments like " Obama is a nice guy ..just wrong" . When Romney did not effectively answer the left's smears and lies early in the campaign ,and allowed them to label him as a criminal who won't pay taxes and kills people when he closes down their place of business.. etc . ;that sealed his fate.

You aren't competing against freebies Tom, you are competing against fair. As long as you see a little help in hard times as a freebie, you will always lose because NOT acknowledging what the rich guys have already done to ordinary citizens through a recession that stole from them and changed the whole nation for the worst, makes enemies, not friends.

I mean Romney was on TV hollering my taxes are to high while paying less than the ordinary worker, and sending American jobs to China. And you blame freebies for your loss?

Hello, Earth to Dumbkoff, that's no way for robbers to treat their marks, because if you were sincere, you would give their money back. That's not a freebie either before you get started down that idea.

I DO agree with tom's original sentiments, however. The Mexican interlopers are conservative in their lives, their religion and their politics... They're NATURAL born Republicans.. But, once they realized that the right wing just wants to THROW THEM OUT, all that other stuff doesn't matter.

    Good morning, excon:

This is the best post in this thread and why I suggested Republicans get a ground game going NOW--swarm as volunteers all over the schools and libraries and Y's and churches to promote two-parent families and education and literacy/ESL and team sports and family value stuff and girls' self-esteem so they don't have babies starting at 13. If they did that, Susana or even thirsty Marco might just have a shot in 2016.

The right wing doesn't know how to talk to anyone but themselves. Everybody else they holler at, and denigrate, and dismiss. That's the only principle they project.

LOL, the straw man that we just want to throw Mexicans out is the best post in the thread? You do realize Texas, with all our Republicans in office, LOVE our Hispanic people. We just elected one Senator but obviously he's not authentically Hispanic.

Repubs may have lost ground with Hispanics but it's less us moving from them as it was you lying about us and fear mongering, your post is an excellent example. Geez you guys are pathetic.

You are right in that I don't know how to talk to others when they engage in non-reality based arguments, manufactured false premises deserve to be dismissed.

    QUOTE by tomder,
I'll name a couple... he diluted welfare to work requirements through executive orders, and requirements for food stamps. Adults among the 47,000,000 food stamp recipients clearly recognized for whom they should vote.
He was asked by TWO REPUBLICAN govenors to waiver the rules for work requirements in there states by 6 months so those governors could implement a program that prepared recipients to go to work and set up child care, transportation to work for them. He said go for it!

NYT's Trip Gabriel Rides to Defense of Obama on Relaxing Welfare Rules, Calls Conservative Charges 'a Stretch' | NewsBusters

Of five states that initially requested or considered waivers, two have Republican governors, Utah and Nevada, the administration said.

Gabriel stuck to the White House playbook, jabbing at the "hypocrisy" line.

But Mr. Romney was also one of 29 Republican governors who urged the federal government in 2005 to allow waivers granting more flexibility for their state welfare programs.
In fact, the legislation promoted in the letter – the Personal Responsibility and Individual Development for Everyone (PRIDE) Act – actually would have toughened the federal work standards. It proposed raising the mandatory participation rates imposed on states from 50 percent to 70 percent of the adult TANF caseload and increasing the hours of required work activity.

You were for it before you were against it?

Contraceptives aren't free, premiums help pay for them. There is no co pay is the more accurate statement. They still require a doctors visit, and legal perscription.

I don't know why you deny it.. The President made the slide show 'the life of Julia' detailing her dependency on the Obama nanny state from cradle to grave . That was a central theme of his campaign.
Help for the working poor is NOT free stuff. Especially after/during a hard recession. Why do you deny the recession hit them harder than it did the "job creators".

We didn't lie about you, didn't have to. They just have to play what you say and people will run away.

Blame our lies and free stuff all you want, still doesn't repair your credibility.

I really don't care who requested it . Emperor Zero did the waivers. The House passed a bill to block the move by Zero and it passed a 250-164(the do nothing Reid Senate did not take up the bill) .Anyway you cut it ;Zero unlawfully reversed a law passed by Congress ;without any consultation with Congress ;using executive order . "
    All hail Obama!!

As far as the phones go ,I am well aware that the program began under Clintoon. I did not say Obama freebies ;I said liberal freebies . You can't say that the President did not use it as a campaign tool and is still doing so today .

And what are the Republicans doing to cause the populace to embrace that party line? Ranting about Obama won't get them there.

    It's a scam site.
Obamaphones.net is an independently owned and operated website and is in no way affiliated with the United States government, the United States President, any of the departments within the Federal Government, or any of the state or local jurisdictions located within the United States.
The term “Obama Phone” has been tossed around in the media and through social networks for many years now, but in reality there is no such thing as an “Obama phone.”

While it is true that the United States government does provide discounted or free telecommunication services to eligible low income and disadvantaged families, calling it an Obama phone is not true, as Obama had no part in initiating this program.
