That's an assumption that I'm not willing to accept. Drug lords "risk their lives" all the time in order to "pursue a different life" than the one they had growing up. That isn't something that we need to assist. People who risk their lives to LEGALLY change their lives need assistance. Those who BREAK THE LAW don't.

I'm happy to grant refugee status to anyone who legitimately needs it. But if your first act in the country from which you are requesting asylum is to break the laws and disobey the orders of those you are asking assylum from, do you really deserve our compassion? If I was asking a cop for help and he told me to get out of my car so that he could see that I didn't pose a threat to him, I'd get out of my car. I wouldn't disobey his very simple order and demand that he help me anyway.

Laws change from two outcomes, public opinon and public backlash, again history passing you by

The founder fathers of the US technically broke the law, or is rebellion not unlawful?

Elliot, your arguments are very vague and have no depth to them, it is unfortunately becoming tiresome pointing out history to you!

Pal, I would be the first one on the lines if I was called up to defend against invaders, however, it would not stop me from understanding the situation and have empathy for what the other person was trying to do

Most illegal immigrants come from an uneducated background, and as such it is difficult for them to change their ways or know any other way to survive

This is what needs to change - their country of origin needs to be assisted in brining living standards up, but here we go again with givernment intervention, I know you don't like it, but I am afraid your president thinks it is the right thing to do

I don't ignore what you present as fact. I reject it outright. Unless of course, you too can provide a link. Excluding the fact that BEING an illegal alien IS a crime, I maintain that illegal immigrants don't commit any more crime than citizens do.

On what basis do you reject it outright? The fact that reality does not fit your preconceived notions or ideology?

Your link does not provide any documentation of death or harm caused to an illegal alien by a minuteman.

Some further proof of illegal immigration and crime - you are free to ignore it and remain ignorant.

    Hello again, in:

In terms of the militia, I DID say, not yet. I also said I could document their presence, and I have...

In terms of your other links, one out of three ain't bad. Your first link, gangs in the military is bogus, because illegal aliens CAN'T join the military... If there are gangs in the military, they're CITIZENS..

The link to drug traffic didn't mention illegal aliens at all...

Your third link DID say illegal's are involved in kidnapping... But, it didn't say that citizens AREN'T involved in kidnapping...

I say again, illegal aliens are NOT involved in crime any more than US citizens are.

On the face of it, I would believe your last statement, but I want the numbers to prove or disprove it.

The fact is there would be ZERO additional crime by illegal aliens, if there were Zero illegal immigration. So the fact that ordinary citizens commit crime is not the correct comparison.
