I really don't think this incident has anything to do with doctors being evil, unless the parents made some sort of a statement to that effect. I didn't read any newspaper articles about this incident, but have heard about others like it.

In one way, I can understand the parents' reasoning, to a point. They believe in God and His Son Jesus. They know that God can heal. They know that the Bible tells of people who came to Jesus with only faith in the belief that Jesus could heal them, and they were healed.

Where the logic in this type of thinking breaks down is that knowing that God can do something doesn't mean that it will happen. If you adhere to this type of logic, you could extend it to food-Christians know that God could provide all the food they need, and would never have to go to the grocery store. Why doesn't He? Because if he did, faith would not be required as it would be common knowledge that God works in the world in supernatural ways.

So the parents erred in that they assumed that because God can do something, He will if you ask. If He always did, faith, and His plan as presented in the Bible, would go out the window. The doctrine of denying yourself or members of your family medical care for religious reasons is an erroneous one.
