Shazzy, I'm sure Joe and I will meet up sooner or later, but right now work is crazy. Sort of.
Let me explain;
As you all know I'm working for the flu shot campaign. Things started pretty well. We were offering the seasonal flu shot, things were steady but not really busy. No line ups at all.
On Monday the 23 we got the H1N1 vaccine. It was offered to the public, whoever came in for the shot got it. Well, it's been a week of very long line ups, 4 hours at times. Everyone and their dog seemed to be coming in for the shot. Good, that's what we need in order to keep this under control.
Bad, because we didn't think things through.
As of Tuesday the Alberta government was allowing overtime for RHA's (my position) and nurses working on the flu campaign. As of Thursday some provinces ran out of the vaccine and others (ours included) realized that they would soon follow if they kept up the pace.
I was supposed to work full time all November and have been offered shifts to work overtime. That all came to a stop on Sunday. I got a call, all clinics are closed until Thursday, Nov. 5, at least.
They're regrouping to determine who the high risk groups are. In other words, who needs the vaccine the most?
We will hopefully be offering it to everyone once we get more vaccine, but right now they're only offering it to those in the high risk groups and they need time to come up with a plan to do this effectively.
So, I'm home until Thursday at least, after that it may well be really crazy until the campaign ends in March.
I hope that Joe and I can get together then. :)

Are you working today? It's early morning in Alberta right now, past midnight perhaps, right?

No, no work today, tomorrow or the next day, although I was scheduled to work.
It's actually not a bad thing for this week, I'm still sick, so is Jared. This gives me a bit of time to get better. :)
Back to work (hopefully) on Thursday.
It's 11pm right now, daylight savings time. :)

Thanks Unky. :)
Jared seems okay now, but he's seemed okay for a few days only to have a really bad night of stomach cramps, fever, headache.
I'm hoping tonight goes okay.
As for me, I have a fever, cough, congestion in my chest. I'm okay though, but I don't want to push things. From past experience, these symptoms can quickly go from not so bad to hospital care.
I'm taking care of myself and Jared, I really am. We'll be okay. :)

Ok, that means either it's not the H1N1 flu, or you both developed resistance against it if it was. :)
Glad to know!

Glad to know!
A friend of mine is sick with H1N1 right now. Another friend dropped off some clothes for Sydney and told me that her son, also named Jared, is fighting the H1N1 virus right now.
It's scary.
I hope that whatever Jared and I are fighting isn't it.
Once we're better I plan on all of us getting the shot. I get special privileges, seeing as I'm working the flu campaign. ;)
Shh, don't tell anyone.

That's normal! My mum works at the hospital, she was in the blood bank, now at the virology centre doing blood tests etc. It's as if you are directing the patients to those who take blood, then it goes to my mum who does the tests lol!
And she too takes some things at times. Like medicine for cough from the hospitals' pharmacy, amongst other things.

On a lighter note. The RHA's that worked the halloween shift all dressed up.
The costume, a pig with wings.
Any guesses?

Well, if I must...
It's tough work, but someone has to do it.
How about a hunky Polynesian man... just 80 more hours. Countdown! :D

Polynesian man?
We have one of those!
I was looking for an Aussie hunk, but he seems to be MIA. :(
There is KP (have you met KP?). He makes me weak in the knees. That man sure can type. :)
DrJ comes and goes. I'd rather he comes... oops. Darnit. Someone slap me! No Ben, put down the whip, I'll be good. NOT! ;)
So many men, so little time.
Sadly they're all gone.
Do I smell?
OMG! Do. I. Smell!
