That's a step up from perfunctory. I think your state's way is far superior to signature checking alone.

    I totally agree with you.
    1. Current state ID/driver's license with photo and signature.
    2. Signature taken while in line to vote.
    3. No ballots mailed out willy nilly, but must be applied for via county election commission's application that may also ask for additional verification.
We often disagree, but not on this occasion. I would only add that #3 should include a valid reason for requesting a mail out ballot.

Heard today that every state that mandates picture IDs has a process for people to get a FREE pic ID, and also has a provision for the person getting a provisional ballot that would be counted upon the person later getting proper identification.

When I called for an application, I had to tell them why I needed a mail-in ballot. I was prepared to supply my hematologist's name, address, etc. if I had been asked.

    Sounds reasonable to me.

The sun has come out and a gentle breeze is blowing!! We are largely in agreement here.

Hello: You'd think that with all my BS about politics, that I'd know how to caucus. You'd be wrong. I ain't never been to one, and I'm going today. I don't know what to do. Isn't it going to be crowded? I mean the whole damn state is going to be there. excon
