Just in case the email address for the Portuguese embassy in London is: [email protected]

But don't expect a reply within 7days - I have waited weeks on end.

    Good luck.

Milton you will need the usual documentation of birth + marriage attested in Goa before you get the nationality for your family - may be a better idea to apply for a residence card for them at the UK border agency:)

It's even worst than it looks...
I'm portuguese to and I live here for 5 years and a couple of months so applied for a british passport for my 11 months son,and paid 58£ for it!so after 2 weeks they reply that he can't have a british one as I didn't live 5 years PRIOR to his birth.the best part is that was badly treated on the phone when asking what to do and after that they told me they would send back my documents but not the fee... so they are charging me for a document that they won't produce!! if anyone knows where to complaint about this,I would apreciate!
So after all that I phone to the portuguese embassy and the only thing you get from those numbers is just info!! so went to the embassy personaly... they don't allow anyone to go inside, the only thing you get there is the same number which nobody answers,a fax nr and an email.as we all can see they don't reply to any of them... as I found out the only way is to make an appointment, but even if you go there in person, they won't allow you to do it... they will give you a very small paper with the same numbers that are good for nothing.to end with all,was even told that can not make an appointment trough that phone number as that nr is just to get info!! I'm totally disgusted how this country is discriminating us after paying taxes here along 5 years and hardly getting anything in return... even worst,I'm disgusted with the country of my nationality... my parents paid taxes there all their lifes, their parents to,and theirs and theirs... I did it for almost 30 years.doesn't make sense when the govern takes our taxes to pay this services when they are there just so a few fill their pockets for doing nothing!!
I don't know about all you people but going to look for some way to complaint to the portuguese govern and here I will do my best so everyone knows what's going on... will go to watchdog!
We're trying to sort this out for a month as we bought tickets so our son goes to meet the rest of the family in the end of July, still have 2 months before but the way I see all this, looks like we're going to loose our tickets and everything, and as I was turned redundant and don't have a job at the moment... we won't have another chance as we already struggle to pay all our bills.
Think all this is a joke really... would feel more freedome if was arrested or something... we are stuck here against our will,as we can't leave our son behind!

    Hi there,

My mother is portuguese, I have a south african passport. I want to apply for a portuguese id/passport in the uk. I have lived here for nearly 10 years. But my visa runs out next year and am finding it difficult to do anything so that I may continue my stay here. I am also married to a british national. Is it difficult for me to apply for a portuguese id/passport. I have all paperwork like marriage certificates. Birth certificates etc

Please help what can or do I do?
