No one is dumping on you Joy, If I misread what you wrote, than I am sorry, but I am sure I saw egg whites (I could have been remembering something from another thread), but I have been working weird, long hours and have been extremely tired. There isn't anything wrong with egg yolks, it was more the milk that wasn't a very good idea, and only because MOST dogs can't digest it and it can cause diareah, not a good idea for a dog who is already sick. Regardless of what was written, the vet said to try the bland diet. If you want to advise raw egg yolk instead, that's your choice.

Joy, I went back and re-read and I think I did misread your post. Sorry I didn't mean to sound like I was dumping on you. I think I just saw egg whites and skimed over the part where you said to not give them. My bad. I've been doing double time here at the clinic as well as at the shelter... :o

I'm back with some news about my dog, sorry about the delay in updating you on her status. I finally got some answers from the vet to the symptoms she had. For one, the bleeding from her mouth didn't come out directly from the inside of her mouth it came from her licking her private area and I didn't see her do it at the time and I automatically thought it was coming from her mouth but it didn't. It so happened that she can still get her menstrual cycle which I didn't even know could still happen to a dog her age. She does have a very bad ear infection which caused her to have vertigo. Her teeth are fine no signs of decay were present. As soon as she started her second dose of antibiotics, she was able to eat and drink without any problems. She is doing much better compare to how bad she seemed to be doing the last time the only new concern I have are her eyes, she has trouble opening them which I have to do for her by getting a wash cloth and warm water and wiping them and when she does have them open she gets a mucous type teardrops coming out of them,I take her back for a follow up this coming Thursday and to get the results on what type of infection she has in her ears,if it was bacterial or viral and how she could have gotten it I'm just not sure if I should wait until then to let the vet know about her eye issue.Any suggestions or remedies I can do for her 'til then would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.
