You are mistaking the cause of insurgency with jihadistan. They attack us because we do not choose submission ;not because we occupy their land .

What is happening here is a convenient cherry-picking of the Ronulan plank. You agree we should retreat from the world into fortress American but you don't agree that we should close the draw bridge behind us.

Both of these were Paulian planks in 2008 and there was this strange cheerleading for Paul . Now that the Maine Republicans adopt this ;there will still be this strange love of Ron Paul ;but his positions that are less attractive get labelled "tea party " and condemned .

Plenty of other country do not choose submission, why are people not flying planes into their buildings?

Because we represent the biggest threat to their goals. Which country did you have in mind ? I can point to instances where the nations have indeed become defacto dhimmi .

Well off the top of my head..
India ,Philippines ,Indonesia ,China ,Russia ,Sudan ,Somalia ,Yemen ,
Saudi Arabia , the government of Egypt... oh yeah... Israel... all are routinely attacked by jihadist because they won't submit to the jihadi world view. I'm sure there's more . You will note that many of the nations I listed are Muslim dominated .However ;since they don't subscribe to the strict interpretation of the jihadists goals they too are attacked. I never suggested that the US was singularily targeted .

That's correct, you said "we represent the biggest threat to their goals" and I asked why is that. You didn't answer it, you simply listed a number of countries who have experienced terrorism.

We are the infidels that can defeat their goal . That is why we are the biggest threat .
They see inside the nations they control the embrace of western modernity by many that frankly the American culture dominates. You see it clearly in the areas they take over . Any shred of a culture that does not conform with their view of Islam is purged .You saw it in the destruction of the Buddha statues in Bamyan ;and the persecution of the women who choses to wear western clothing .
It is a contest of cultures pure and simple and their answer is intollerance . There is no accommodations to it as the Europeans are slowly learning.

Canada is well on it's way to dhminnitude. I already linked to a Canadian journalist that makes that case. China does have an active jihadist insurgency against it. Bolivia ? You don't know that it has very active jihadists activity ? Both Bolivia under Morales and Venezuela under Chavez are accomdationists with the radical Islam (especially with Iran) because they share a common enemy.

This is my last comment on this OP about this . I will continue this on another posting if that is the main subject of it .

You talk about Canada like I don;'t known what's going on here yet I live here. :rolleyes: Rulings have come down that if a muslim woman wants to vote she must show her face for identification. The bottom line being if you want to live in our country you will submit to our laws.

Those other countries you mention did not have people planning for years to fly planes intio their buildings nor are they planning to fence their borders in.

You still haven't explained why you think you are their biggest threat. Feel free to run away though.

Ok ;final word on this tangent (the OP is about the Republican platform in Maine not "why they hate us") . To submit to their wishes we should abandon our politics of support for our ally Israel. To submit to their wishes we should not have defended Saudi Arabia against Iraqi aggression ;or defend Muslims being ethnically cleansed in the Balkans ;or before that support Muslims in Afghanistan against Soviet aggression .

That is the politics they find so offensive ? Nahh ,(except the Israel issue ) why would they object to us defending Muslims ?

You are much BETTER at history than I am. I'm curious, though. You think our defense of Muslims pisses them off? I didn't know that.

But, in your list of things they don't like us for, how come you left off the time when we backed a coup in Iran against their popularly elected leader and installed our puppet, the Shah? That single event, according to my narrow historical view, started the Islamic revolution... And, it's got nothing to do with submission. It has to do with us messing around in THEIR country.
