It is ironic that just after updating this the biggest update of all has happened.

My ex best friend went and told the person I started a relationship with since then all about it and all the things I apparently did/said.

I didn't tell him about it because I didn't see it had anything to do with our relationship, he has decided he can not trust me and now never wants to speak to me again.

Good riddance to him if he doesn't want to know the truth but instead believe a bunch of lies.

It is none of his business. It is your past to decide whether to tell him about or not. He should have been at least inquisitive about what she said. He should have known you well enough to not believe her. I would bet that he hadn't given you full disclosure of his past.

Be glad you have new friends.

I would put my loyalty to my friends very high. I wouldn't even dare consider a romantic relationship with my friends' ex. It's definitely opening a can of worms. There are consequences as you have learned.

I agree that your ex friends are not very nice, all those years of friendship gone down the drain. If anything, that just shows that they might not really have been very close friends from the beginning. Now you know the truth.

The maturity level in all of this seems very low. Leave them to it and be happy with your new friends. I can understand your friend being upset. Maybe even shutting you out for a bit or putting up a wall. But why is she so upset with you and not so with him? You both did it. She is showing she values him over your friendship. You have went beyond trying to repair it all. Consider this her loss.

Is this guy your ex you are talking about?Or a new guy?

If this is the old guy,you already know that was a big mess.If new,then he too deserves to be dumped if he prefers listening to others talking about you without waiting to clarify things from you.

And if I were you,I wouldn't react in front of my ex-best friend even after this.Read my earlier post,its going to be real tough not to react,but that's what you need to do.Let the whole bunch find out how dignified and calm you are through it all.
