New motor came from Grainger. It is model number 4MB19 made by A.O. Smith

Cap is 7.5 mfd and 370 vac. There is a basic wiring diagram: white & black go to line, Brown and Brown with white stripe go to opposing terminals on what is listed as sep. cap.

If you look on the picture I posted, the old brown wire is connected to top capacitor. That capacitor has 3 terminals ( it is B on the picture):

The terminal the brown wire is connected to has 2 possible wire connections, one is free. The second terminal on the capacitor has 2 orange wires connected to it and has 3 possible connections. Here, one orange wire runs down to the primary motor, the heart of the ac unit and the other orange is coming from unit C as listed on the picture. There is 1 free connection left. Lastly, the third terminal on top has 2 red wires connected to it out of a possible 4. There are two available wire connections which are free.

The blinking fan icon at your T-stat has nothing to do with your outside unit. Yes it does say fan on your T-stat but what it means is your indoor blower. Outside is a fan and indoor is a blower. Try turning on the outside unit and see if the compressor is running if it is its most likely the motor or cap.

You will need a separate capacitor for the new fan motor. Put the two browns on the new capacitor. Put the white where the purple use to be, and the black where the black used to be(on the board). So I see this is a heat pump. This brings up other possible problems. Try wiring it the way I just said, with the new capacitor that is rated for your motor, and let me know if it works. If not, it may be a problem in the control board (the board where the black wire hooks to). Good luck and please let me know how things work out. Lee

Yea.. its not going to work with your old cap. Unless that motor has capaility of being wired three wire and I don't think it does.
Sorry but going to have to go back to grainger and get a separate cap and wire like I said before. If you try to hook up to old cap you might ruin new motor.
