    Hi,
I have lived with my partner for four years and we are not married yet, we will do it one day but are happy as we are right now. I have two children from a previous marriage and we have a baby together. However, I didn't live with my (now ex) husband before we married, we did it the so called right way, and it was a disaster. Turned out he was a cheating wife beater. If we had lived together before we married I could have saved myself a divorce. You never truly know someone is 'the one' until you share a home together.

OK thank you again for all the info, its helping a lot.
First off what is handfasting? I don't understand that.
Then, how do you find apartments that go by your income?
Yes I agree about the right way, everyone says get married then live together and I just feel like if we live together before just like people have said before ill get to see how he is in a home and get to know him from that point of view.
So I think we could do that?

I suppose its because it is easier to just separate from someone you are not married to, than to divorce them if it doesn't work out. It makes things less complicated.
