You certainly are entitled to your opinion. No one is saying you aren't. The issue is how you express that opinion. Using the comments feature to do so is NOT the right way. Did you check the link I gave you? A negative comment should only be used if the post was FACTUALLY incorrect.

If you want to disagree with what someone posted, then feel free to do so by adding your opinion in a reply to the thread. As long as you don't violate the rules by attacking and/or insutling another member.

Just remember, just as you have the right to express your opinion, everyone else here has the right to express theirs with the same caveat.

This is amazing. The OP has a 16 year old that runs away, and I think we are beginning to see why. It's telling that he choose to call his sister several times to report where he was and the mother only once. There is more to this story then we are getting and I know who's side I'd begin to believe at this point.

I ran away when I was 17. The problem was my mom gave me a lot of free space, and I took advantage of that. When me and her started fighting, I saw it as an opportunity to get out. My mother and I literally hadn't talked in 2 months and we lived in the same house! Well, after being gone 2 days, my mom called the cops and put the fear of god in me! So I came home that night to find the caps standing at my door. Long story short, I almost went to jail but they left. About 1 or 2 days later, I was put in Rescue Crisis, which is a place for teens who are mentally and/or physically a threat to themselves or others [Which I'm guessing I was since I was a "cutter" for 5 years"]. I spent 3 days there. I guess what I'm saying is, where you guys having problems? Fighting more then usual or him withdrawing from you? The girlfriend could have been a bad influence. My boyfriend was, which is why I ran. If he's in contact, at least you know he's safe. While truancy is illegal, that won't stop him. But the thing with that is, you'll get in trouble just as much as he will, so you should probably call the school and explain the situation.
