For starters child support will be based on your son's income if she has the child which is usually 14% to 22%.And secondly if she hasn't used the other medical card there isn't much anyone can do.And text messages are considered inadmissable due to there isn't any proof who sent it anyone can use another phone and send a message. If there isn't legal documents stating every other year claim whoever claims the minor parent in custody of the child has legal right to claim

Son's ex-gf is depressed and troubled
Lately my son's ex-gf has been on my space almost everyday or everyother day and enteres into her blogs how depressed she is and she can't live no more and how she cries for hours and even cries her self to sleep at night. I think it's a cry for help? If you have read my other threads you know the history so far that has been before him and what has been unfolding.

This should be combined with the other thread so there isn't a need to go back and forth between threads to get info.

If she is a danger to the child, then she needs to be reported. If she is not, yes, print out the info and take it to Court.

Ok, I'm sorry if the following sounds harsh because you're not the one making bad decisions in this case.

Your adult son had an inappropriate sexual relationship with someone that is still in high school and still legally a child. So he should not be shocked that she is causing drama and being difficult. She now not only has the immaturity of a child, but she has hormones that even a lot of full grown women have trouble handling. No wonder the child is depressed.

I would have to agree with all of the previous posters that suggested limiting and controlling contact with the mother of the child. He should document everything, support his child financially and emotionally however possible, and thank his lucky stars that he didn't get charged with statutory rape.

She will not lose custody of the baby for depression (as long as she is not an imminent danger to the child) and most certainly won't lose custody for immaturity. If that was the case, there would be very few children still with their natural parents. And since you're a father, I'm sure you know that becoming a parent can shock maturity into you rather quickly.

Harsh it kind of was. My son spoke to an attorney and because the two were within a 3 year age difference (in our state) it's hard for them to consider rape and seeing how she had dated other guys older then that. Also to set the record straight they went to grade school and high school together so they were not strangers, and only started to date when my son was a senior. We will be taking that info along with information that we subpoena from the state police to courts with us since we found out that the state police have been called to that residents several times in the past.

Still doesn't change much about what I said... when she got pregnant, he was still an adult, and she was still a child. And considering the fact that they had known each other for a long time, he should have known what to expect from her and her family. But that's irrelevant legally.

I'm glad your son spoke with an attorney, it's ill-advised in even the simplest child custody or divorce case to attempt to manage it without at least a consultation with an attorney. And especially in this complicated case, he'll want to make sure that he has the law on his side as much as possible.

I have never heard an argument that the female dated men "older than that" as a legal defense in case involving sexual contact. Never. That sounds like the "well, I'm bad but they are worse defense."

Again - when immature teens without children have sex and get pregnant they become (in many cases) immature teens with children.

I believe you said your son is a Fireman. I'm surprised these charges haven't surfaced and hurt his career.
