Dear Chava... boy, Alex must really be some great guy - you not being able to wait the usual 6 weeks, and after a C-Section..

But, back on the subject - the IUD has been 'perfected', but if you have any resistance/allergy to metals, plastics, etc and don't know it, you'll find out the hard way. My daughther found that out after paying for one and having to have it taken out less than a month after. Hopefully you'll not be allergic to latex, as that's the only thing outside of abstinance that I would suggest.

LOL well we're not back to where we used to be at... just tried it a couple of times. Actually last night I felt some really bad soreness in my incision afterwards, so we may hold off again for another couple of weeks now. :p

Oh yuck, that's awful for your daughter. I won't use the IUD for more of a psychological reason... because of what it did to my biological mom. I've actually seen the modern ones at the STD clinic where I used to work, and they are tiny, flexible, and look quite comfortable, but I still don't want to try! And thankfully I am not allergic to latex, so condoms are fine!

Thanks, Chava - things are as well as can be expected. I just cannot be as active as I used to be for a while. Hope things get better before my grandchild gets here.

Remember hearing about the 'Dalcon Shield'? Well, I lost my first son at five months due to that - had massive infection and was on IV Antibiotics for over two weeks, so I know what those IUDs can do. We found out later, when I delivered my daughter through induced labor, that I could not have contractions because of the infection more than five years earlier.

Yes I know about the Dalcon Shield! Actually before my bio mom died, she was part of a class action lawsuit against the company that manufactured that product. She had some serious problems with it as well. I think she died before being able to get any compensation. That was a few years back, but you might want to look into it and see if the lawsuit is still going on. Maybe you can get some compensation for yourself! I'm really sorry to hear about your son. :(

yeah. My grandfather was also in a family of 12... but my friend was two generations later. They just wanted a large family and loved it.

my wife loved being pregnant... OK, really she loved having the child inside her. All the peripheral stuff like hurting hips and the I-cant-sleep-laying-down-or-sitting-so-maybe-if-i-stand nonsense she couldve done without.

I think shed like to get pregnant one more time but we'll likely adopt.

maybe if I ask for 10 more kids she'll find middle ground and let me get a dog. =)

or more likely I'll BE in the doghouse.

Dear Chava, got the 'spread it message'. Thanks so much for your advice - it's a little late for me to claim, but it's OK. I sometimes think of what he'd be like - at 35 now.. but destiny had other plans for me.

There is always the sponge... That is if Alex is " sponge worthy" ( stolen from Seinfeld) LOL I was glad to see it put back on the market. It worked great for me for years.
