We have a small 1200 sq foot home in the Sierra Nev. Mtn. at 6000 feet. Our Hot water heater is passing chunks into the pipes. IT is 20 years old. I think we will replace it, but don't know whether to go with a replacement 50 gal. tank, getting the cost plus labor 30% tax credit will help. Or, should be up the price and go tankless. Thoughts?

Is there any truth to advice someone gave me never to purchase lighting fixtures such as Hampton Bay (or other Home Depot stuff), mainly because their being manufactured in China makes them of inferior quality and that they will corrode or otherwise breakdown very quickly? :confused:
