Between my husband and I we have just about everything pierced, currently, or have had lol
My husband:
Currently... ears stretched to 1/2G, tongue twice, nose, nipples
Has had... more holes in ears, industrial, eyebrow, lip, and labret.
Me
Currently... 9 in ears, eyebrow, tongue once (second time), nose, nipples, belly button, and will be getting a labet in a few weeks
I got my belly button dnoe when I was 16... my mom took me for my birthday, I took it out when I got pregnant, but the hole is still open (my daughter is 5) and its fine, I just don't wear it.
My eyebrow is in and out, but never closes up.
I had my tongue done twice, but when I got the second barbell put in it was hitting my teeth a lot so I took both out.
About a year ago I got it done again, but just one, and they must have just went through scar tissue from my previous two because I didn't swell at all! I was so excited! Haha
I think the nose is the trickiest because you had to be careful... puttin on or taking off clothes, washing you face etc... you just have to watch that you don't get it caught... I've hit it a few times and it sucked lol
But like everyone said... every body is different, some may reject some may be fine, make sure you don't shop around for the cheapest price... you are talking about your body make sure you go to a licensed and professional place. And follow the care instructions... think it through because you will most likely have a scar if you end up taking it out... so think about that too :)

I have heard that if u get ur bellybutton pierced when your fat, then if u lose wight there is this HUGE hole.and vice versa.
actually, there are more places i have been thinking about getting pierced.
but besides the ears, i think the main places im thinking about gettin pierced are my bellybutton and my eyebrow.but there are risks.but the first one i would like to get done is my belly button, because there are ALOT of nerves near my eyes and i wear contacts so that may be more...difficult.
i was also thinking about my nose and tongue, but i think it would bug me with the stud in my tongue, and i know my family would have a fit, so i might just wait until i graduate when im living on my own for my tongue.
but for the nose...i dunno.i have been reading about the whole nose piercing thing and there are things that sound kindof threatning.
well, if anyone has the following
1.BElly button pierced
2.eyebrow pierced
3.nose pierced
4.tongue pierced
i would love to know ANYTHING YOU KNOW ABOUT ANY OF THOSE.so if u kow anything please please tell me.
I have my eyebrow peirced I don't really think that there are any risks unless you go to a dirty or bad place since alls that is is skin... I had some problems with my bell button though, it will sometimes push the ring out then you will just have a tiny bit of skin that the ring goes through

Well some points to consider would be, for #1 probably just local infection that could be cleared up easily. #2 close to the eyes, infection here could be very bad, especially for contact users, your eyes are already subject to irritation. #3 your nasal cavities go up in your head towards your brain, not a good area for infection. #4 your tongue will be sore, and your speech will be different.
No, I have no piercings, but I have been injured many times and have occasionally dealt with an infection, who hasn't. But think about the general area you are risking.

I'm 37. I got my nose pierced at 19. It's really quick and it hurts a little. Afterwards it felt like someone had hit me in my nose, but that only lasted until my walk out of the mall. Just remember they are not supposed to put a stud on the nosering. The lady that did mine put the stud in and it was hard to get it off because it was the same one they put in your ear for the first time with the screw on it. I'm clostraphobic so it drove me crazy. My husband had to put his hand in my nose to twist and pull it out. Otherwise, it was a positive experience and I love my nosering.

Why don't you think these questions and answer it to yourself:
1. Why do I want/need all these piercings?
2. Is it necessary to have these piercings?
3. Would people care about my piercings in the future?
4. Am I doing this because it looks good now? Will it look good in the future?
and so on.
Every choice has a lot of questions to be answered and the person making that choice has to respond to the questions.
Like eljay1103 said... your body, your choice~ but my advise is DON'T DO SOMETHING YOU'LL REGRET

It's just not that serious. Honestly, it's like anything else. If you want it, be responsible about it. Keep it sanitized, and hopefully you are getting pierced because you want to and not beause someone else did it or wants you to do it. It's a personal choice, and its cosmetic, so don't worry yourself with anyone's so called political views on the matter. You be you.

Thanks you. I appreciate it.
And as for the guy whose all
"ask yourself these questions"
Honey I wasn't born yesterday.
I always think about it.
Why do I want it?
Because I am an individual and it's a statement, not a way of life man.
I think it'll look cute.
And personally I've always watned one since I was about 8.
What will others react towards it?
Well lets see.
I'm still in high school and pretty athletic so I wouldn't be able to do much of anything besides a tongue or belly ring.
Considering I read somewhere the tongue ring is the most quick to heal(6 to 8 weeks)
And coaches wouldn't see my belly ring.
And why would I care what others think about it?
If I did care what others thought about it id be doing it for the wrong reasons.
And as for the future
(hence the question about how if you get pregnant it'll stretch it out)
It's a piercing.
I'm sure if I didn't want it I could just stop putting a ring into it and let it grow back up.
Not trying to be rude, but maybe next time read the post all the way through before you answer if you insist upon answering.
But thanks for the concern.

And of course its not necessary.
Eating at mcdonalds isn't necessary.
But most people do it anyway.

Just FYI... It doesn't take 6-8 weeks for a tongue piercing to heal...
Good answer earlier though ;-)

Any time you pierce your skin you run a risk of infection. It's important to choose someone who follows every precaution and maintains a very sterile facility. This way you can lessen the risk of infection, and if disposable single-use supplies are used (they should be!) eliminate the risk of HIV transmission or Hepatitis transmission.
If you are a teen, include your parents in selecting the right place for your safety.

I have my belly button pierced and my tongue.
You say you want to find out about the risks, well, there isn't many.
You have the ones that are the same with ears like rare infectiona and stinging. And then you have bleeding and embedding. These are all rare.
And with tongues, some advice is don't eat steak. Because it can rip the piercing out. And with belly piercings, don't wear tight tops for a few weeks so the peircing can begin to heal.
And, if you hear anyone say "you lose half your virginity through tummy piercings" tell them from me that it isn't true.
I hope this helps and make sure you know all the concequences before having a new piercing. Don't let the risks scare you if this is what you want.

In all actuality there are many risks with any piercing. Like others have stated, make sure that whoever you go to is a licensed professional... they can let you know all the risks you're taking. Please continue to read and gather information... some people don't know exactly what they're talking about ;-)
And by the way... piercing your navel has nothing to do with virginity... I'm not real sure I've ever heard anything more idiotic than that.
Good luck!

I have my bellybutton pierced and my tongue & I had my nose.
First of no matter what you do make sure they are CLEAN & make sure they steralize the needles & rings in front of you.
My belly button didn't hurt at all and it won't stretch, if you get pregnant while having the ring still in take it out fast let the hole close so it doesn't stretch.
My toungee didn't hurt either, just make sure they pierce it from the botton up so they can see your veins & nothing will go wrong.
&my nose that hurt the most but its very annoying feels like you always have a booger in your nose.
