    Kp,
I know what you mean, this happened to me while searching for a kids rhyme site,I am not sure what I misspelled but it took me to a site no parent would want to open while a child is waiting patiently for nursery rhymes.

And about the not being able to close it,I had to shut off the Pc,because the whole computer froze.

Hey I just found a pet peeve I didn't know I had: I hate it when companies publish only phone numbers with words in them, like "call us at 555-porkpies". I really don't like having to decipher the letters on the dial to figure out how to reach them. I know it's a minor thing but I do find it annoying.

Websites that make the back button reload the last page. Your in the middle of searching and go to one of these sites and then can never get back to the search results page. Grrrr.

Funny story about the misspelled website...

My hubby used to work for a real estate company. A Realtor wanted to create a free personal e-mail address. He told her to go to www.hotmail.com; she called back angry because she wound up on a porn site... www.hotmale.com! :)

LOL! Been there, done that. I can now spot a problem Google search a mile away. But I only really care at work (you can set search filters on Google), at home I don't care since not much shocks me.

Am I the only one who is DYING to call 555-porkpies?

I worked at a company that had a receptionist who was the surrogate mother to all... nice, kind lady with a great sense of humor. One of the workers, after having this prank pulled on her, got her to call a number for free dog food. She was a dog lover and the worker told her to put it on speakerphone so she could help her through the process. She did this, of course, in front of the entire lab group that worked with her and knew her well.

Well... needless to say, 1-800-my-puppy was what the worker told her she was calling... instead it was 1-800-my-pu__y (you work it out) and connected her to a sultry woman's voice who was glad to entertain her for a minute by minute fee. It was beautiful. She turned three shades of red and smacked each of us at least once. Hard to run away when you're laughing hard.

Do you have the male version phone number? Would that me 1-800-my-pe__s? Hubby's on nights again. That's my pet peeve, companies that are open nights. :(

I'm lonely, I'm grumpy, I've had a bad day, well, some of it anyway.

I need a back massage, with some tingly oil. I want rose petals on the bed and satin sheets. I'll wear my lingerie, he'll wear his silk boxers, we'll put the kama sutra tape in the DVD and enjoy. This sucks! :( Right now I'd settle for some dirty talk. ;)

Really huge pet peeve right now, my hubby's boss.

Okay, vent over, I'm okay, really, I'll be fine.

    So, how is everyone?

You know... being a night person personally, I LIKE companies that are open nights.

I freakin' HATE companies that are ONLY open 9-5. Like everyone ELSE doesn't have to work those hours too! Or, like the DMV, open 11-3, Monday through Thursday. Bah.

More companies should have hours for those of us that don't even get HOME until 7 PM.

Sounds like you need to find KP, Alty ;)

Hee, hee, yes, I do. KP! :)

Synnen, my hubby is a machinist, so he works at night, but the company isn't "open" per say. He works odd hours, for two weeks he works 7am until 4pm and then 2 weeks 4pm until 12:30am, it sucks. I hate it when he works nights. :(

This is his first night shift week, one more to go and then he's back on days, now days I like. :)

Having worked in a factory in the summer--even though he doesn't see you as much, I bet those 2 weeks are something of a relief to him, because of how hot it gets inside a machine shop.

I also worked "southern swing"--5 days of 'days', 2 days off, 6 days of evenings, 1 day off, 7 days of nights, 4 days off, and back to days for the same cycle. So just think---it COULD be worse!

That's true Synnen, it could be worse.

I've just had a really hard day, I could use his company right now.

At least I have you guys, I don't know what I'd do without all of you, especially when hubby is on nights. :)

I work from 8am - 10pm Monday - Saturday. The ONLY day I have off... is Sunday.

When's the bank open? That's right. Also, when's my leasing office (who accepts my packages that come in the mail) open? That's right. Grr.

    Altenweg:

Kind of hard to work on the hours starting at 1:00, 3:00, 5:00, 7:00, 9:00 etc. I'd say really difficult. Yep, I'd be pissed too.

    - People who get upset at the elderly because they are moving to slow in front of them. That will be all of us someday.

    - And lastly - People who fail to realize that this life is temporary, and it won't matter what material things you have gained, what accomplishments you have achieved, what money you accumulated - because all of that will be left behind, and the only thing that will remain, is if you shared all the goodness in your heart, an embrace, a kind gesture or word, did you make a positive difference, or negative one. Did you lift someone's spirit, or break their spirit. Did you lend a hand when needed, or were to blind to see the need.
And did you count your blessings and be grateful or did you desire someone elses blessings. Did you dry a tear, or cause a tear? Did you realize how special you are and how special others are or could you only see faults?

And lastly :), and this is something that I do try and work on myself, is to have more understanding, to care for, and not get upset at those who do cause pet peeves, as they are the same as us, and may just have painful issues, or actual reasons they do the things they do.

Final thought - to make someone smile, can last for miles, causing a tear, could last for years.
I realize this is a thread started back in the summer, but I had to comment on your post.

This is soooo compassionate, sooo caring,, sooo correct,my perception of you has gone up 100 fold.

Thank you for the 'gratitude' list you have helped me to write(in my personal journal)
