Your friend has given what is clearly a biased opinion filled with unscientific, non-medical info. Sorry, but that is far from compelling.

Then please take a month's trial of HRT and report back at the end of the month. Thank you.

Yeah. That makes a lot of sense. Be stupid and take hormones for a month and see where it takes you. No thanks.

If you had dysphoria because you're in the wrong body, you would.

BS pseudoscience
Gender ideology..... the theory that binay doesn’t capture the complexity of humans ; and that human individuals are properly described in terms of “gender identity” that conflicts with their“sex assigned at birth.”.....could very well be the most harmful illusion in history.

It's just the insanity of the current age. Unborn children can be killed. Two men can get married. A man can simply decide he is a woman and poof!! He's a woman. And if you criticize any of this, you can risk, in many places, being arrested.

It's sadly fascinating to see how many women there are who, in their zeal to remain at the head of the parade for their view of cultural progress, are abandoning their own gender and the progress made at great cost over the decades in order to advance the cause of transgender ideology. They have gone, almost overnight, from being the chief advocates for women's athletics to being its chief opposition.

Nope. The honest and genuine way very definitely isn't simple.

There is no "honest and genuine way". Those sex chromosomes have the final word.
The entirely predictable next step.
A California hospital executive and professor claimed children can identify as a mythology-inspired creature and claimed that this category of children love mermaids, according to a presentation reviewed by Fox News Digital.

On Quora:
What are your thoughts on born men wanting me to call them a female because I will not?
I once met a person who resembled Rodney Dangerfield. This guy:
except TALL. A very large, very masculine person. Who assured my class that the masculine presentation included their entire body.
This individual had spent their entire life feeling like a girl, like they’d gotten the wrong body at birth.
As a young adult, this individual had cause to get some genetic testing done that revealed that SHE had XX chromosomes. Genetically, SHE was female. Her body DID NOT MATCH her genetic code, or her brain.
Despite the extremely oversimplified version that we teach to 10 year olds (XY = penis = male), biological sex is complicated. There are a number of different variables (chromosomes, genital development, SRY gene, hormones) that do not always align.
You don’t know what anyone else’s situation is. You don’t know what’s in their pants, what’s in their chromosomes, what’s in their genes, what’s in their hormones. So just call people whatever they ask to be called. Refusing to do so doesn’t make you right, it makes you a jerk.

Just a lot of unconfirmed conjecture. At some point, the person needs to make an appeal to some research that can support these claims. Anecdotal stories just don't get the job done at all. Even worse, the supposed "experts" on Quora are frequently not experts at all. I feel certain that's the case here.

The lunacy known as California continues. This is the latest episode.
A California mother of three who claims she was fired for speaking out about education curriculum at her local school board meeting told Fox News Digital that she has been unfairly branded as racist, homophobic and transphobic by members of her community in letters sent to her employer and printed in local news outlets.
Janet Roberson spoke at a Benicia Unified School District (BUSD) meeting on April 20, where she expressed concerns about the district's sexual education curriculum that she said taught "gender confusion, not gender clarification" because it told 10-year-old students they could choose their own gender and receive puberty blockers. She said teaching "vulnerable children that lifetime dependence on medical care is a viable option is completely unacceptable and evil."
"Children are being asked to identify their pronouns and this is now part of the ten-year-old curriculum," Roberson said of the curriculum. "This forces a gender discussion beyond the scope of the state requirements and complicates an already overburdened classroom environment."
For the this she was labled "racist, homophobic, transphobic" and accused of having "anti-COVID safety, and anti-COVID vaccine writings, along with content that favors Eugenics." Her beliefs were compared to those of "doctors who worked at concentration camps during World War II." Not content with that, it was further said that Roberson's "unapologetic bigotry might well affect a marginalized person’s ability to purchase a home, contingent upon whether or not that buyer passes Janet Roberson’s racial/sexual purity test."
Within days she was contacted by the real estate broker she works with that her services were no longer needed. It's a chilling message. "Shut up or we'll destroy you!"
All of this comes from the crowd that claims to believe in tolerance and diversity of thought. Go figure.

If a woman wants to begin transition (months of counseling and gender affirmation) and happens to be pregnant, transition will not be considered. There is no such animal as a "pregnant man".
A pregnant woman does not have a beard unless there is a hormonal reason.
The singer Adele had a similar problem when pregnant. Hair growth or hirsutism in pregnancy is usually due to hormonal fluctuations — an increase in secretion of male hormones or androgens from the ovaries and placenta," Dr. Alyssa Dweck (an ob-gyn and assistant clinical professor at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine) confirms.
Good news for women who want a baby without a beard: Any excess hair that grows on the face, chest, abdomen, or arms, usually toward the end of the second trimester when the hormone-secreting placenta really starts to take shape, is usually temporary. It typically goes away on its own within six months of giving birth.
