I admire people that can play by ear! My bro drives me insane, because he can pick up anything from a guitar, to keyboards, to the sax etc. and listen to a song and learn it in no time! Ticks me off! LOL! He's actually a drummer by profession though!. or as I call him... Mr. Rock Star! He lets it go to his head, and he's always got groupies around. It gets annoying!. especially to his long time girlfriend.

That's what I'm working on with my guitar right now. I can play fairly well, but I always looked up the music so I'm spending time trying to learn by ear. I would like to (ultimately) be able to listen to a song and start playing it on my first listen through... or at least get close :)

Keep on doing what you're doing Biggie! People that appreciate music and talent as much as I do, are very impressed by it. Won't hurt you in the girl dept either! LOL! You wouldn't believe the girls that follow my bro's band from city to city! I'm just dumbfounded by it. It's weird to go out and see all of these girls that are all ga ga over him, and wearing their T-shirts and stuff. It's all a little odd to me. Boy, the stories I could tell those girls about my bro. LOL!

    Yeah, I was kidding :)

It's a great way to pass time though... Does your brother's band get out anywhere distant? Is there any chance that I have ever heard of them? Some of my favorite bands are from Canada actually :)

I could do that on Baritone and/or french horn back in my high school days (5 years or so ago), but I haven't really played with anything but a guitar and keyboard since then. I really wish I had a saxophone... they're so much fun.

I was going to send you a link, but it looks like they are repairing the site. They usually only play in Canada so far. They've had a few US gigs, and have opened for a lot of big acts. They opened for Doc Walker (country band) just recently. They are called Cold Shot. I doubt you would have heard of them. They are playing a really big venue tomorrow night, and I'm thinking of going... free tics for sis! I get perks! LOL!

    Hey no problem Starby,

If you have time and wouldn't mind, I would appreciate it if you check out my last post on this page and give me your opinion. I want to know if I'm just being nuts or if I should stay away from this situation...

Well all I can suggest Biggie, is if you do go out with them, be careful. Are you sure this isn't a ploy for them to find out info for your ex? Or maybe a chance for your ex to show up unexpectedly, with a story about just coming to see her sisters? You should tell them right away, that there will be no discussion about your ex, and don't give up anything you don't want to get back to your ex. I don't think this is going to help you any though. It will just get you thinking more about your ex, which isn't a good thing for you right now. It will drive you nuts, and you'll be right back to where you started. We don't want our Biggie all depressed and feeling down. ;)

    Thanks for the input...

She never got along real well with her step sisters. They tolerate each other, and I have actually talked to her step sister a bit about the breakup since she went through one about a month before I did. Your right though, it's a scary situation. Maybe my buddies won't want to go, that will be my excuse to not go.

I also realized that pretty much everything I have been thinking about for the last few days is ALL based on jumping to conclusions. I need to keep that in mind.

Very true. It's easy to jump to conclusions after a break-up. I have soooo been there. It's hard to go through, and to get your mind to stop thinking about them, and wondering what they are up to. It goes away though.

I've had 3 long term relationships. One of them was a marriage, and the other two, we may as well have been married. I just found out the other day that my ex husband has bone cancer, and has very little time, and I can't even go see him in the hospital. It makes me really sad. One of my other relationships... that I was in for well over 12 yrs, calls me on a regular basis, and I cringe every time I see his # come up because I don't want to even talk to him, and the other ended up in a big court trial, and I would rather eat dirt than see him again. I still keep in touch with all of their families on a regular basis.

So it's a tough call. If you just want to see your ex's sis's because you enjoy their company, and nothing else, then I say go for it. It might be too early for you to do that though. You need to completely get over her first I think.

    I'm here. How's tricks?

Biggie, I responded on your thread, so I won't say it all over again, just know that I care and hope that everything goes okay, no matter what you decide. :)

Starby, how are you? Did you get your cleaning done? ;)
