Mmm... I love rain... but only when I can walk in it... or puddle jump... ;)

I actually survived high school without a nickname. The only person that ever really called me any nicknames was my Dad... and those are NOT going to be shared!

It's a sad confession, but... I use nicknames because I can't remember their names to save my life. I can remember small details like about the time they told me that their grandmother likes to collect newspaper clippings about natural disasters...

... but I can't remember that their name is... uh... yeah, forgot. So I'll come up with a nickname for them like... clipper. Makes it easy.

    Hi starby! How's the van-situation?

    Nicknames I'm currently called:

Kimbo, kimmie, biggie (from the girl I call smalls), big one (from the girl I call little one)... GOD is occasionally used.

    ... yeah I said it.

Well, yeah... I know... I think I said that in... what?. Barcelona? ;)

Someone called me a Nightengale yesterday... odd... but hey... its better than some things!

I take it back... my ex used to call me Angel Eyes. I liked that.

Hey Sneeze. Haven't checked it out yet. First on my list after coffee! *more yawns* I hope there has been no more tampering happening. Urrrggghhh!

Speaking of nicknames... I had more than my share! Some weren't so nice, and some were just plain weird! Hence Starbuck! Someone from my old baseball team, started (for who knows what reason) calling me Jo Jo Star Buck Buck (he just said he thought I deserved an extra buck, lol) . That turned into to Bucky, Bucky O'hare, Bucket... and the list goes on. Imagine how embarrassing that was... to walk into a public place and have somebody yell, 'HEY BUCKET! " Not 's good! ;)

I completely forgot! Freshmen year, this girl started calling me candy andy (my name's andrew... ) and we got into a conversation about how that sounds like a male stripper's name.

So I started calling her cinnabuns.

... and for the past 4 years, ANYTIME I run into her (library, book store, restaurant, bar, GRADUATION), I've yelled out, "CINNABUNS!" and she'll yell out "CANDY ANDY!"

Needless to say... we both had some explaining to do to our parents at graduation.

... it was a good time.

EDIT: I had "explanating" earlier... wth? Explanating?. what was I on?

I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad not to have a nickname.

The few I can think of aren't the nicest names - typical high school guy stuff I guess (e.g. lets see what dirty words rhyme with your last name.)

Not to mention my first name being Nick - that rhymes with tons of great words

No kidding... funny! It's a little strange, to this day, I will run into someone from the team, and they really don't even know my real name! You're right Sneezy, you start calling someone by a nickname, and after awhile you just don't remember the real name. There was a kid in school that we called "Stinky." We weren't picking on him, he was in our group of friends, and it all started innocent. I saw him not too long ago, and without even thinking, called out "hey stinky!" We didn't think much of it, but I'm sure the people around us did! LOL!

Another guy, who's last name just happened to be Dyck, we grew up calling him "Scratch". (hehe) Again, it just became normal, and none of us even knew his real name... still don't know! LOL

HA! Chicky and Biggy? I think the guy in the fedora has it all figured out now! Biggie used to be part of a boy band, and Chicky thinks "chicken of the sea" tuna is chicken! Why did your show ever get cancelled? So sorry for your divorce! :p

    hi everyone!

    I'm in a bit of a pickle.

I've worked in this research lab for the past 4 years... since freshmen year of college. Now that I've graduated, they say that I have to go through the hiring process again... going through background checks and a drug test. The thing is, I have this week and next week, and then I'm gone. My background check's scheduled for next week... which doesn't really make sense. As soon as I pass my tests, then I get "hired"... but by that time, I'll be gone.

Here's the pickle. I'm not supposed to start working until this hiring process was complete... but no one told me until now. Even my PI (principal investigator... my boss) didn't know about it. So... urg... I don't get paid this week and next week. I mean, I never did this job for the money, but... what a bummer huh? And it's not like I'll just stop working because it's my project and it's my research. Darn.

Anyway, it's 2pm... getting off early to go study. I'll be back much later.

JR: I'll write you back later. :)

    have a good'un everyone!
