What about a section of chicken wire to cover the top? That's flexible stuff and is probably available in your area and can be cut to the size you would need. You (or someone at work?) probably has wire cutters. Yeah, I'd go with leather strings (shoestrings for workboots?) to secure the top (chicken wire dome) to the wicker basket (through the openings in the basket weave).

It sounds like alty-Cat knows what she likes and wants to keep them that way. ;)

I'd actually thought of that. The thing is, while I know I could easily get chicken wire from lowe's, I'm not sure if I'll be able to get such a small quantity. I don't need an entire spool/bail/thingy. If I can get a hold of a small amount, then that would be perfect. I'll have to look and see how they sell it.

I can try. My camera just doesn't pick up quiet sounds that well. If it's too quiet, there ends up being this weird beeping noise instead of the actual sound.

I've known some cats that went outside like dogs. Would even paw and meow at the door to be let out.

We wouldn't need sound or even to hear them purr -- just watching them move around would be fun. (If you want boring, Andy Warhol filmed the side of a building and also a person sleeping, like, for hours.) We videotaped our feral adoptee Lady Jane Grey's five kittens last spring -- a delightful experience to watch them leap around like little grasshoppers as they explored our yard.

That noise just irritates me. I'll film them during tumble time, tonight. Put on some music so my camera doesn't provide it's own noise.

OOoO Something to look forward to tonight!
WG, I had a boyfriend who had a tape of those Andy Warhol's, he made me watch the entire thing, start to finish while we discussed his motives. While I think A.W is brilliant, he's not very creative is he?

I went to an art exhibit once where one of the pieces was a time lapsed video of food rotting. You watched it rot, then you watched it un-rot. The entire thing was like 20 minutes long.

Well, he did come up with the Campbell soup can art which is world famous, as is his name. And he is a leading figure in the pop art phenomenon. Yeah, he was creative too. Someone paid $100 million for one of his canvases not long ago. I just wish he would have done something more with his hair.

Now something like that would intrigue me, especially the un-rot part. (I like weird stuff.)

It was interesting. Just long.
The same artist had another piece where they had laid video of a naked woman with video of a dead swan. Titled it, 'the rape of leda.' it was really well done and interesting. If you watched really closely you could see the swan begin to decompose.

He didn't create the cans themselves and come up with the color combination, but he printed them in various ways as a pop art thing --
Campbell's Soup Cans - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
He also was the one who came up with the expression, "15 minutes of fame."
