Will do Doula. :)
She's really upset, more so because she can't get ahold of someone to go take care of her dog Niki and she doesn't know how long she'll be in hospital.
I've been trying to contact her friend, so far I haven't had any luck.
If she only lived closer I'd be there in a heartbeat, but a five hour drive isn't in the cards right now, nor is a flight.
I wish I could do more for her. :(

Oh no, that's horrible. I hope the surgery goes well and I wish her a speedy recovery!
Good luck on finding someone to take care of her precious baby.

I know you guys are probably thinking...are you nuts...get to the hosp! But I'm trying to figure out what the hell to do here with Niki and everything...oh crap!! I'm sorry if I'm sounding really stupid...I hit my head pretty damn hard.
I am so sorry. I will pray for you, the surgery and for someone to take care of your dog.
Alty, keep us udated.

I'll send along all your well wishes, I know she'll appreciate it. :)
Right now she's more worried about Niki then she is about herself. Silly girl. ;)
She'll be okay, she's a toughy. I bet she wishes she had a laptop right now. Imagine going cold turkey from AMHD? Ahhhhhh!

Too bad she doesn't have a neighbor she trusts.
If the hospitals there are like the hospitals here, they will cast her up and kick her out. Hopefully she isn't gone too long. :)
Cold turkey is the worst! Like she need to handle withdrawal symptoms on top of everything else... geesh.

If she is going to be in there for more than say a week we need to send her a care package!
Copies of some of the latest posts and some photos!

There won't be a cast, she broke her femur, hence the surgery. My mom broke her femur when she had her car accident. It's a very slow healing process, will involve physical therapy for many months, even a year. Then, when all is healed, there will be another surgery to remove all the pins holding the bone together, more therapy and then, hopefully, just a limp for the rest of her life.
My mom was in traction for over 2 weeks before they even did the sugery. Then she was in a therapy hosptial for 4 months for physical therapy. After that she came home on crutches which she used for 8 months before she was able to put pressure on the leg.
At one year she had surgery to remove the pins and spent another month in the therapy hospital before she could walk on the leg without the aid of crutches.
It's a long process, and Starby's alone. At least my mom had my dad and me to help.
I may have to talk her into staying with me. Do you think I can convince her?
Help me guys, if all of us nag at her, then she'll be forced to do it! ;)

That's a really nice gesture Alty, you should definitely try, even if she won't stay with you I'm sure even just offering would lift her spirits.
Plus she is going to struggle looking after Niki for a while.

Wow, what an ordeal... her and Niki do need somewhere to stay. That will be aweful for her.
I will say a prayer tonight and keep us up to date, Alty.
Hopefully there is an angel watching, angels like Starby deserve angels of their own.

You could make a new topic and ask people to leave her a message or a printable card/photo
Just one message per person though or you'll be printing a novel!
If I can get cash to you somehow I'd be more than happy to chip in for the printing.

That's a great idea. As for the printing, no worries there. :)
She'd love that. I'm going to get on that right away. Great idea Shaz. :)
I'll post the link once I've written the thread. :)
