I have made many a parent walk out of restaurants cursing me out under their breath because I pointed out to control their kid.
Last time I was at McDonald's, the kid next to me in line screamed so loud it nearly burst my eardrums. Why? Because a fly landed on her arm. Wanted to tell the parent, honey, your kid is annoying now. Why stuff her with that large Coke and all that sugar so she's really hyperactive? But kept my mouth shut.

My pet peeves:
Students talking when I am talking
Parents who make excuses for their child's actions
Dog owners that do not follow leash laws
Cell phones ringing when I am out to dinner.
Great thread!

People that pretend to be your friend, but when they are in front of others, they pretend not to be your friend by ignoring you and passing you by like you are nothing and never were!;)
Another one, is seeing I am low on gas... knowing I have to fill up again:(

People who use your instead of you're and vice versa drives me bonkers. I've seen this in advertising used incorrectly and drives me up a wall.
People, who in the middle of a conversation with you face to face, answer their cell phones and keep talking to the person on the cell phone and ignore the person in front of them.
Bicyclists who insist on hogging the roadway and flip me off when I lightly tap my car horn to advise them a car is behind them.
Joggers who don't stop at intersections but keep right on jogging right in front of your car.
Parents who ignore screaming kids throwing themselves on a filthy floor in some store.
Cars who just have to pass you on the left just in time to then cut you off and pass you on the right to make their turn off.
Cars who tailgate.
Cars who tailgate in bad weather thinking you'll go faster if they get right up in your back seat.
Cars that speed when there is a major snowstorm raging or heavy rainstorm.
People who eat at fast food restaurants and reek of onions.

LOL twinkie!
I love onions, but don't eat at fast food places... well, I can't say never.
When I first got my license, I was that driver you hate. I am sooo much better now! Took me 18 years, but I learned without killing myself or anyone else;)
I will watch myself with your you're pet peeve.

I will admit that I'm a procrastinator (sp?) but it doesn't affect anyone but me. ;)
I have a huge pet peeve. When one of your dogs goes outside to do number two and comes back inside with a bit of poo stuck to his fur, the poo then falls to the ground and the unsuspecting human steps in it. Yup, don't like that at all.
Excuse me a minute, I have to go wash my feet. :(

Alas, no. :( After I had a spinal fusion, I don't know how many friendly dogs jumped on me. Hurt like anything and their owners might or might not call them off successfully, but even if they did, it was always AFTER the dog jumped on me. It's hard to be a good sport when people are laughing at something that's causing you agony. I knew they didn't know, but it's only dogs off leash that can do that.

I camp quite a bit and our campgrounds has a leash rule. My doxie was out on his leash the other day and I had gone into the camper to get a drink. A dog (BIG mix breed) was being walked by another camper- minus a leash. The dog came onto the deck of my camper where my leashed dog was and growled and nipped at Tuscany. His owner stood at the road screaming COME COME. Guess what he did not come, until I came flying out of the camper yelling-I think I scared him.
The worst part... we saw them on a walk later in the weekend... still no leash.
What if my dog had been a child?
Tuscany is fine by the way- just pissed that his sunning got interupted.

Guess I don't get a pass, but really, my dog is very obedient. She doesn't jump on anyone (I HATE dogs who jump), and really, when I'm walking her and see someone coming our direction I snap her leash on, especially if the other person has a child or dog. Mostly she's off leash in the woods or in open fields, chasing the ball. I promise - I'm a responsible dog owner!! No jumping, no biting, no chasing, no aggression!
Anyway, reading another thread I thought of another pet peeve... people who argue for the sake or arguing. PEople who have no real POINT to make, other than to prove you wrong. I just want to say, "SHUT UP ALREADY!"

Oh my god me too! I hate that. Honestly don't they have anything better to do? Even when I am PMSing I don't search for a fight THAT bad!
Jillian- I am sure you are a responsible dog owner... no slam against you.

It certainly makes you wonder... I wish I had nothing better to do with my life than argue with strangers on the intertubes just for the sake of arguing... What a shame I have a life!

I didn't take it as a slam, really. Irresponsible dog owners tick me off as much as the next person. I was at the beach last year walking my dog (on leash, it was crowded) and a guy with a boxer asked if our dogs could play together. I said sure, and he let his dog off leash to run over to mine (she was with my husband a ways away from me). HIS dog snarled and nipped at my dog as soon as they got close to each other, to which MY dog snarled and nipped back. Then the guy says, "Oh, sometimes he doesn't like other dogs, sorry!". Grrr... Idiot.

Ewww... I was eating breakfast!
Are you SURE it affects no one but you? I had 8 phone calls yesterday from people looking to get copies of their transcripts--oh, and by the way, could I make THEIR transcript a priority, since they couldn't start classes this week at another school without that transcript? Um... excuse me? As if I'm sitting around my office just WAITING for people to call and request transcripts--I DO have other work, and there were people who followed the instructions and sent in their transcript request ahead of the procrastinator and dammit, making you priority may be good customer service to PROCRASTINATORS, but ends up being bad customer service to others! And it's not like you wake up in the morning and decide "I'm going to go back to college tomorrow!"
Gah... I'm just frustrated because I know these are the same people that will complain all the way to the president that they didn't get good customer service if I say "no", too.

I thought of another one...
Although this can be funny SOMETIMES... I cannot stand when I am in a car with someone and they are singing a song that is playing on the radio that they obviously do not know the words to. Drives me nuts! And they just keep going and going and going...
