You are so correct Start. They are beautiful. I was at a Russian O wedding a couple of years ago. The symbolism was amazing. The bride and groom are crowned, the family walks around them holding candles. It is exquisite.

    Hi everybody!

I saw the stuff about the Russian O and it took me back. I grew up in Alaska and remember there are, or were, still pockets of Russians living all around my home town of Homer (south central AK) They almost always wore very bright colored clothes and were devoutly religious. Huge ceremonies at wedding, too. The nearest thing I've seen since was a Greek wedding a friend invited my to while in New Hampshire.

The Greek Orthodox and the Russian Orthodox shared a church in my city for a long time. I think there are a lot of similarities between the two.

That's interesting. I do know they both have tremendous beauty in ceremony...
And that's kind of cool they could share a church!

Hi Cap'n, I remember on the way to Homer from Anchorage, that is where I saw most of the churches... I remember a really old one and only the frame and tall steeple were left. I wonder if it is still there. I think some where by Anchor Point or right before...

Yeah, start. There was a very big church in Anchor Point. To my knowledge, it is the largest remaining in Ak. Very beautiful!

Wow, J! That's a little warm for PEI...

Let me tell you those Russian O's can drink! And many of the girls take Ukraniane dance that is neat to watch. My friend's little sister used to do that and it was very cool.

    Are you all pack JH?

Ok so now that the gang is all here... I almost choked on my dinner last night.

I went out for dinner with a couple of gal friends and they were chatting about their love lives. One said that he husband gave her a new "toy" and she named it Big Pink because it was hot pink and black. Made me think of you guys and Starts love of all that is pink and black.
