    Spider bite --ouch!
Today, I took my puppy outside and felt a very sharp burning pain on my toe. I looked down I saw a black fury spider with white spots on my toe. I immediately brushed it off and went inside. Ok, I'm TERRIFIED of spiders so I ran inside kicking and screaming like a big baby! ;) THAT is when the pain began... I felt like someone set my foot on fire. It felt a little worse than a bee sting.

I came inside and "googled" the spider and found out it was simply a jumping spider (I see them often here). It said they weren't harmful and usually don't bite.. I guess this one was having a bad day.

Now, 6 hours later, my foot is still on fire and occasionally goes numb... but I don't see any marks where it bit me. I'm okay right? Should I see the doctor tomorrow?

    Sincerely,
    Arachnophobic/Hypochondriac :p

I feel your pain. I am the biggest Arachniphobic in the world. If it were me I'd go see the doctor, but that's just based on the fact that I'm so scared of spiders :p

Oh, you silly girl!! Just kidding as I am not arachnophobic, but have a deathly fear of roaches.

Soak it in some cold water and take some benadryl if you have it, and keep it elevated above heart level (will just keep the circulation going)

What you described to me, and I could be wrong, we call a wolf spider. Nothing poisonious, you just may be allergic.

We have them too in Tennessee. Terrible terrible bites. I had one almost 20 years ago and still have complications in the heat.

    Thanks for the advice.

I have actually dropped a pan of boiling water on my feet before to get a spider off my hand. It's horrible. I'd rather roll around in a bed of snakes before I would let a spider near me.

That must have been terrible. My cousin got bit by one and he had to have a large portion of the skin on his back removed to stop the spreading of the poison.

Yeah, it sucked, but just a part of life. I got over it, I just make sure not to wear panty hose when it is 90 + degrees outside.
