Clutch on 1986 john deere 160 lawn tractor
Is there a spec on the clutch adjustment. I changed the trns belt and messed with the three little screws on the bottom of the clutch. Now it won't disengage the engine when I press the clutch pedal

    Hi,
Yes! There is a V-idler on the left front beside and above the electric PTO. It resides in an elongated "J" slot. It must be tightened at the midpoint of the slot or you get the problem you describe.

The idler pulley about 3 inch around? I read this was toe 5 1/4 inches from the edge of the frame. Its also in the same spot before I changed the belt. Are the three spring loaded screws on the bottom of the clutch supposed to be any particular spec?

    Hi,
Normally the clutch is located by the wiring being on the right and the frame stay in the slot on the clutch.
