Movie made I believe in the late 1990's

Ok I am looking for the title of a movie I have seen it one time on TV it is about a girl names heather who starts dating a high school football player they have to sneek around because his parents don't prove well she becomes pregnant after she tells him he ends up getting hurt really bad during a football game and has to go through therapy can someone please help me I really want to find this movie I thought it was a great one and would love to see it again
