Temporary loss of hot water in house
Problem; we suffer a temporary loss of hot water, a minute or two, throughout the house. House was built in 1959 and has copper pipes. The loss of hot water is typically a one time phenomenon. So while taking a shower, the water turns cold and eventually back to hot and will be hot for the rest of the shower. The same phenomenon can happen at the bathroom sink or kitchen sink. We just got a new hot water heater thinking that would solve our problem. It did not.

The problem seemed to arise around the time we had a hot water burner repaired. (we have hot water heat in the basement and in a green house; nat gas forced air everywhere else) When we lost the heat in the basement and green house, a pipe feeding an outside faucett that runs through the greenhouse burst. It was after these episodes that the problem arose. A plumber told me that it was just a coincidence. Regardless, any idea of what is causing our problem?
