I could teach you more, after my head stops throbbing. ;)

So, are you looking forward to Christmas? Did you write a letter to Santa? I did! :)

Oops, these are fruits, with the shape a little like a heart, red in colour. The outer hard layer is a little spiky. The flesh is white and juicy, with an oval black central core.

Their size average to an inch high.

EDIT: The second one was too big :o
And no... no letters to Santa. Not quite expecting gifts anymore. Well, some people might give some gifts as surprise... We're no more quite keeping that 'gift sending' tradition here. :(

Wow, I've never seen anything like them.

So, do you take off the spiky outer layer and eat the inside?

    Yes, it's simply yummy!

What I hate about it, is that a fruit fly might have laid its egg in one of them (and the time it ripens, you have a larva inside!). So, I'm always checking it carefully before eating it. Unfortunately, the amount of lichee left decreases each second!

My little sister and my mom don't quite care about eating a larva or not. I just can't

    Larva, lol!

The house that I lived in in Germany had a plum orchard right around the corner. Around a 5 minute walk. My Uncle would take me there and we'd "steal" plums for our walk.

Fresh plums are great, but there's always the chance of a worm being inside. I remember one day we went (we were back for a visit, I was 7 years old) and I bit into the plum, looked and saw half a worm. I was horrified but didn't quite make the connection that I had eaten the other half.

I looked at my Uncle and said "What kind of weird worms do you have that there's only half in my plum?" He just laughed until I finally understood.

    I don't like plums anymore. :(

    Old? You're not old!

I would kill to be 21 again. All the things I'd do. Sigh.

If I knew then what I know now... damn... I'd be dynamite! :)
