    Poor shower pressure
I recently renovated my shower and the pressure in the new shower is consdierably lower than the pressure in my upstairs bathroom which was an addition to the original house but still more than 20 years old. I wuld like the pressure in my new bathroom to be the same as the upstairs. I have removed the flow regualtor which helped some but is there anyway to make it better. If I change pipes, do I need to change every pipe from the water lead right to the shower head or is changing the pipes that run into the bathroom good enough. Any advice would be appreciated.

Until the Expert comes along with more:

Double check your cartridge or seats... and the screen in the shower head for crud that might have gotten flushed into them when the water was turned back on.

Before we can advise you about your pipes we have to know what you have, copper, galvanized or plastic? How old are they? In the meantime follow Ricks advice. Shut the water off to the shower and open up the valve. C heck and clean the inlet ports on the cartridge and before you reassemble flush out the supply lines. Good luck, Tom

I think that the pressure in my whole house is "challenged"--not terrible, but not as good as I'd like. The kitchen faucet pressure is really poor and I suspect there is some kind of "water saving" something somewhere in the faucet. I have removed and cleaned the aerating section and cleaned the...

We recently underwent a renovation of existing second floor bathroom. The shower has a main head and a second hand held. The pressure is so low that the handheld doesn't work. The main head is also very low. We have a sink and jacuzzi in the same MBR and a second bathroom very close by that all...

Pipe diameter = poor water pressure? [ 1 Answers ]

My apartment has low pressure, especially in the shower. It's a loft building in NYC and my unit was renovated in 1985. Others in the building claim to have no issues with pressure. I'm re-doing one bath and the walls have been removed. While the pipes running to the shower area are large, the...

Poor Water Pressure throughout House - Regulator Valve may need adjusting? [ 3 Answers ]

We are experiencing poor water pressure. We have lived in the house for about 2 years and have never had great water pressure. I noticed what seems to be a regulator valve of sorts on the main line coming into the house (see picture) and was wondering if I can adjust this valve to increase the...

No Pressure in Shower [ 2 Answers ]

This morning while taking a shower, I was greeted with a grumbling in the pipes and then a loss of pressure. Sink on the other side of the wall works fine, as does all other faucets in house. Not sure where to begin sorting out this problem, and welcome any suggestions.
