    Hi,
I would make sure it isn't food or allergy related first. Has something changed recently that she feels that she needs this medicine?
    Hope this helps :)

mesing2u is right. Yellow food dye always made me hyper. And my cousin gets hyper with red food dye.

ovruigo, she would see a child psychiatrist not a psychologist.
The simplest way to describe the difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist is that a psychologist primarily aids the patient by counseling and psychotherapy. A psychiatrist may also perform psychotherapy; but, in addition, can prescribe medications and perform ECT (electroconvulsive therapy). A psychiatrist is a medical doctor. A psychologist may hold a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) and be called "doctor"; but, is not a medical doctor (M.D.).

jenniepepsi disagrees: Adderal is a strong one, and there are other medications and options before jumping right into it. Sorry :) not trying to be mean.

Good thing I don't do this for a living. ;) Just quoting personal experience.
