    Accessing 401k funds
The company I work for was recently purchased by another company, and I am concerned that I may be laid off. I only have enough savings to cover my bills for a few months, so I'm trying to find ways to access other funds. I have about 5k in my 401k, I know I won't be able to take a loan from the 401k if I get laid off, but could I take a loan against it if my savings start running out while I'm looking for a new job? Would this be a good idea?

    Thanks
