My mother, who has alzheimer's disease, lives in my sister's house. There are other six siblings who pay weekly for a twenty-four hour caregiver. Our checks are made out directly to a health care agency. Due to unclean conditions and my mother having been left alone in the house for days at a time with various caregivers, we have decided to move my mother into a private facility where she will receive better care. My sister has refused to cooperate with us. She goes into a rage every time she is approached about this move. The family believes that she is collecting benefits from Medicare or Medicaid and is trying to hide this fact since we have been paying for our mothers care totally.
Is it possible to find out if Medicare or Medicaid benefits (HCBS waiver? ) are being made to my sister for our mother's in-home care? Thank you.
