Finding out what children's home my granmother was bought up in

My Granmother was brought up in a children's home with her sister in Surrey in the Uk.In the 1920's.
But that is all we know about it .Has my Granmother died over 22yrs ago and no one else knows in my family about it. I was wondering if there was a place I could find out this imformation, as I would like to put some of the missing pieces to her life together.
