Ext painting quotes and paint quality
I live in a deed restricted area and the "gestapo" has mandated a new paint job for my house. It needs a new paint job anyway so I am glad to comply (it hasn't been painted for about 15 years). Anyway, the quotes vary considerably from about $2500 to $850. I was going to go with a painting company at $1650 until I just got this morning's quote at $850. One question is about paint quality. The $1650 quote was going to use Sherwin-Williams paint and the $850 quote would use Glidden. I doubt that is the only reason for the price difference, but is there much difference in quality between these paint brands? Second, besides checking references and such, what are some practical considerations in evaluating paint job quotes? Thanks in advance.
