Wrong pricing on an item bought
    Hello

I recently bought a pair of jeans from a Diesel store in the UK. This store is based at a designer retail outlet and so sell end of line stock at a reduced price.

The jeans had a price label stating 60 pounds. This was crossed out in red pen and marked as 30 pounds.

When I took them to the counter, half way through my transaction the cashier said that it was a mistake and they should not be in the sale and proceeded to charge me 60 pounds.

I challenged him and asked if he could do that and he assured me that he could
(in a rather cocky annoying manner)

Where do I stand on this, was he allowed to change his mind and double the price?

I went ahead with purchase as I had vouchers I needed to use which were given to me by the store, for another pair that I had returned as they do not give refunds.

    Many thanks

Yes they can if the price marked was wrong ( had this been a correct ticket preprinted) but it is possible that someone else ( other customer) marked it down.

I would have personally been mad at the time and asked to see the manager and tried to get something done at that time, the only question I have

Was marking though the price with a red pen and putting the new price, was this the normal and standard way of marking their items down?
